What if I don’t remember an offense or date to list on the background check?
If it's a reportable offense, you might find it in a detailed DL report, or you can reach out to the court and see if they have a record of it (depends on the type of incident/offense).
However, depending on an employer's hiring standards and the severity of the crime committed, an applicant might still a long time ago may be overlooked, but serious crimes will likely put you out of the running. What jobs don't do background checks?
The Transportation Security Assoc (TSA) does a thorough check to issue a TWIC card. Anything omitted or amiss is grounds to not issue the card.
Not remembering the offense is for sure not getting you the card...so it's best to look at your criminal history and annotate everything. As for dates, months/year is sufficient...but that has to be accurate.

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
