James925, Are you making fun of Fontana? Just cause a whole lot of southerners came west in the 30's is no reason to slight the beautiful town of Fontana. My grandpappy, er . . . grandfather used to be a care taker on a vineyard out that way in the late 50's and early 60's (he was from Idaho - southern Idaho) . . . it really was a beautiful place back then with those mountains covered in snow and so much agriculture - vineyards, orange groves, eucalyptus trees, and just wonderful fragrances and such all throughout that valley . . . it was a far cry from wall-to-wall houses and strip malls of today. Anyway, I see you're from the North (California) where I currently live . . . but SoCal roots run deep (at least in our memory) . . . hard to believe how beautiful it used to be when you see SoCal so densely populated now . . . but that's why most Californians live down there . . . it was (and continues to be) quite a magnet . . .

BTW, the only fragrances left in the area come from Chico (nearby) and the dairies that are still left there . . . not the same as the orange blossoms and eucalyptus tress at all . . .

Made it thru day 2. Did a second air brakes test today. Missed only 1 question this morning. After that we went straight to general knowledge. After lunch and going over more knowledge questions. We took a 50 question test. Missed only 3 questions. Only a couple of us scored so high. Thanks to the training program found on this site. Day 3 tomorrow will start with another air brake and general knowledge test again. I shall do better tomorrow. I will keep updating my progress
Haha I just call it fontucky cause I remember that place being out in the sticks and there was nothing around there. And of course at that time I was a little irritated cause had I taken training a week earlier I would have been able to watch the nascar race at california speedway. Figured that would be a good deterrent from training. Oh well...
Oh and Chris good luck out there. I see you're from citrus heights...I had a grandma that lived not too far from there in north highlands.

As a Central Refrigerated Alumni, the classes are very fast paced. But doable. When you get to Fontucky...er Fontana, the real fun starts! Good luck out there and keep us informed of your progress!
