I made my escape at 0630 this morning.
The same Diva was at the counter this morning, swearing she called yesterday. Odd because she couldn't tell me the number she called when I asked what it supposedly was. Then I get called a lying fool, just before she slams the window closed. A real professional.
OMG! PackRat, that sounds like the kind of place you only want to volunteer for once! I'm glad to hear you got out of there.
In my dedicated work I found a few Hydro plants that are... well, let's just say they are less than efficient. Fortunately I have figured out ways to outsmart them at their own game. But then, I am forced to deal with them because I am a dedicated driver for them. It's all part of the job. But we learn to work around the idiots or just quit working with them at all.
Incompetence and lying can become a burr in your saddle real quick.

Mine, hopefully isn't as bad as yours... I just came to the first receiver for three pallets and they didn't know I was picking up today. So they're palletizing it and getting it ready. Said it would be ready in about an hour.

Cicero, IL., Walmart. 2 hours 5 minutes for 6 pallets to be unloaded. Ended up having to spend 10 hours parked in a reserved spot at a truck stop.
Rang both outside buzzers with no answer. Called the main phone line 12 times, trying every extension. No answer. Walked around to the front of the store and proceeded to the dock area. Was told I cannot enter thru the store, "We'll call security if you don't go back to the rear of the store. Someone will let you in."
Over an hour later I hear a voice say "Someone will be with you in a minute." Fifteen minutes later I was on the dock. Twenty minutes later the first pallet came off.
Reported this to the chain of command. I was told "That's typical of that store." No detention pay.

The next time that happens; get authorization from your chain of command to enter through the front of the store. Have them send it on your QC so you can present it to the person who threatened you with security. You should have an ID badge; use it to prove you are legit. You are pulling a Walmart trailer... security should not bother you. You entered through an open door.
Be professional, but assertive.
I have never been late for a delivery, UNLESS the load was dispatched late, which does not happen often. Our company pay sheet specifically States detention for one stop loads is after 90 minutes. I want ti know what Anne's Hubby's secret is for getting all detention paid.
And I think detention gets thrown out if you're late.
You know how to get a hold of me... it's how he signed on; idk. why it's different for/with you. if you REPLY to this post, I will indeed screen shoot his for ya! Sorry, I micromanage him.. I know, I do. Kim, Vicky, Jim, Greg, .. they know me.
If you reply to this; I'll figure out how to post it here. I've shared his paystub(s) with Brett.. so, it's all good. LMK..!
