Yes! Speed limiters, great idea, that nobody cares about. Most trucks are capped at 65 to 70, unless you're prime then it's 45, so what's the point to all of this. Next they're going to focus on every truck having mirrors.

Now there's a pallet shortage. I give up.

Maybe, just maybe focus on getting rid of all the additional driver distractions in the cab and actually teach drivers to drive the truck. Teach them that the most important things are paying attention to surroundings, checking mirrors, being aware of weather conditions before they start the day along with many other factors and ffs put down the damn phone, tablet, and gps. It’s honestly mind boggling that these groups push legislation under the guise of safety, knowing darn well what the real objective is. I’m not the biggest fan of OOIDA in many ways but in this case, they got it right.

OOIDA:

Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association

Who They Are

OOIDA is an international trade association representing the interests of independent owner-operators and professional drivers on all issues that affect truckers. The over 150,000 members of OOIDA are men and women in all 50 states and Canada who collectively own and/or operate more than 240,000 individual heavy-duty trucks and small truck fleets.

Their Mission

The mission of OOIDA is to serve owner-operators, small fleets and professional truckers; to work for a business climate where truckers are treated equally and fairly; to promote highway safety and responsibility among all highway users; and to promote a better business climate and efficiency for all truck operators.
