Your permit is only good for 6 months. If you're going to Prime you get it there. Study with High Road CDL Training Program. It's free and teaches you the info.

Keep up the studying. I got mine before going to CDL school and it helped me be more knowledgeable ahead of time and I could focus more attention on the pre trip and driving aspects.
Even if you wait to get the permit, the HRTP here is EXCELLENT! I passed my permit test, tanker & hazmat first go around just from studying the HRTP here and doing the practice tests.

Last week I passed the CLP exam in Texas. About 80% of my preparation was done through High Road CDL Training Program . The other 20% was reading through the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicles Drivers Handbook, especially Section 14 "Special Requirements for Texas Motor Vehicles". I mention this about Section 14 because it is probably a good idea to download your state's manual and look for any special state rules as well as to see if some of the items are worded differently (than on this website) so you won't be confused at test time.

I am studying.for my CDL permit with my son, who just accepted with Prime. I plan on starting in September, after he finishes training. Could it cause problems getting the permit a few months before leaving for school?
