This is a great situation for the old Backing Practice™ series.

If the hotel can get all the cars out of the front lot for you, you can either A. Use the cul de sac to turn around then back in from the street to either side of that island. Or B. Drive in to the right side of the island and make a heroic U-turn to point the trailer doors at the entrance.

If the hotel can't clear the lot, it's their unload from the street.

I'll send you this one Erroll, for that backing practice. Made it in, customer cleared enough cars. Blindside 90 off the street, 2 forward offsets to reposition more to the right. Then back again blindside around island, then pull up and reposition, then blind side into final spot. Lost count of goals. Crew helped spot traffic but not so good at spotting trailer.

Congratulations Davy!

You've expanded your comfort zone now. You did a great job! That is one thing about this job. It never stops giving us challenges. It's how we develop into professionals. We face a challenge and we do what it takes to get it done. Trucking is very educational. School is never let out and sometimes we get an unexpected pop quiz thrown in just to see if we are keeping ourselves at the top of our game. You passed this exam. There will be another tougher one to come, but you will be ready for it. Sometimes we just have to take it slow and steady and prove to ourselves that we can do this. I think you deserve a few dancing bananas for this one...
