5 years driving and you get a DUI , regardless that it was pled down?
I think you should be more than thankful that any national carrier hired you. My advice would be to stay there at least a full year before thinking of applying anywhere.
Driving Under the Influence
Like Packrat said be thankful for a job. You’re basically starting over. Those prior 5 years don’t mean anything now that you have a DUI.
I do the hiring at my company. We are small so we aren’t self insured. I wanted to hire someone that had a 5 year old DUI , and the insurance company wouldn’t insure him

Hello all. Early 2019 I was charged with DUI in my personal vehicle. The charge was reduced to careless driving in a plea deal. I still have the administrative DUI on my record, for failing the roadside breathalyzer. I also had my CDL automatically suspended for a year. I have since regained my CDL and I just started with Trans-Am. What are my options from here? Will potential employers treat the failed BAC as a DUI? Can anyone recommend an employer willing to look past it? 5 years of trucking, always safe on the job.
