Brett sums it up as follows:
I believe the problem we face is the same one we've faced throughout human history - 99.999% of the population must try to avoid getting chewed up and spit out by the .001% of the psychopaths who are trying to destroy humanity for their own gains.
I listen to a lot of history and philosophy podcasts while driving, which confirms the above perspective that I had before I made a drastic career change. In fact, it's why I made the career change. I had grown tired of the "cultural lies," which I define as a belief that pervades a culture despite the fact that is can be proven wrong by a simple question.
A very easy example of this from history is the Egyptian pyramids which were burial tombs for the pharaohs that contained many things that were to be used in the after life, such as food stores. The pyramids were raided for the precious metals such as gold and the Egyptian leaders would investigate and punish tomb raiders. However, a simple question during an investigation would have been "why is all the food still here?" And the answer from the believer in the cultural lie would be "of course, the food is not as valuable as gold." But the real answer to why the food is still there is that the belief that the pharaoh consumed the food in the afterlife is wrong. The food is still there. Yet, this belief continued for thousands of years.
The Tides of History podcast did a podcast on the major pandemics throughout history and their effect on society. When you are talking about the black death, the number of people who died substantially affected the society because it dramatically changed the demographic and available workforce. This particular podcast considered the other factors such as economic, climate change (not man-made), and political climate regarding its evaluation of the effect on society. With regard to these historic pandemics, its was the PANDEMIC, that substantially affected the society because the number of people that died were a major percentage of the population.
With regard to the current pandemic, it's more the response to the pandemic that has affected our society. Shutting down the country, the stimulus payments, furthering the political divide. About 80% of the COVID deaths are people 65 and older. Over half are 75 and older. The pandemic has not affected the available workforce. Rather, the actions taken in response to COVID has affected the available workforce more.
I chimed in on this because Brett's quote relates to my "search for truth" that led me to trucking. Greg M, if you're still here, I disagree that trucking companies will disassociate themselves with "Crazy Brett." I worked with a lot of financial institutions and they are VERY different that the trucking industry. Financial institutions, and other major companies, care about their corporate image. Other than some of the branding on their trucks, I really don't see trucking companies spending a lot of time and money on their corporate image. Rather, they simply want good drivers. As crazy as Brett may be, his site has a laser focus of making good drivers for these companies.
I had a client before I came to trucking who hires CDL drivers. He told me a story about how a driver showed up to an interview with a MAGA hat. My client challenged him on it, and the driver gave the same response summarized in the meme I posted: "I don't care if you may disagree with my politics. You want to hire me or not?" Well, guess what. He hired him, because as my client said "they know the demand for drivers and know they can get hired despite their politics."
As far as this discussion and Greg M's desire to "take his marbles and go home," please consider the following quote:
Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.”
John Stuart Mill.
And here's the irony with regard to truth. What most often gets quoted and falsely attributed to Edmund Burke is the following quote:
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing
In closing, I will tweak Brett's percentages. 98% of the people are sheep. 1% are the psychopaths who care nothing about humanity but rather have a twisted desire to control the 98%. The other 1% are those who have a desire to engage in an honest debate about the truth. If you disengage from this honest debate, you move into the 98% and you become the epitome of John Stuart Mill's quote.

Hey Chief Brody, I don't think it was a belief by that specific culture. Food was not left to "feed the dead" but left as a blessing for the food they would end up eating. Similar to saying grace or blessing the food before you eat as some do. Many cultures practice spirituality and belive their dead relatives are their spirit guides through life and that they also will be spirit guides to their futures generations. It's meant to honour them. Gold was not used as a form of currency to the Egyptians, in alchemy gold represents perfection of all matter on any level. Gold in its nature contains the perfect balance of all 4 elements. Raiders saw it to be pleasant to the eye, the Egyptians used it as a mechanism for a smooth transition to the afterlife. The misconception in that is either a lack of knowledge or a deliberate push of false truth by the "elites" to keep people from practicing spirituality and to conform to their own religious views.
Twosides11, please read the links below which show that the Egyptian burial practices involved the belief the deceased would continue to consume food in the afterlife and that the gold items stolen were in fact exchanged for other items of value.
I've tried to chime in on this thread several times but messed up. I have a few things to say:
1) Comparing Brett to the Unabomber is like comparing Mary Poppins to Jack the Ripper. 2) I think Mark should continue posting because he's obviously an educated man with interesting viewpoints. But perhaps Mark should choose his words more carefully. 3) I think this discussion does a great deal to dispel the notion that truck drivers are Neanderthals and can't articulate intelligent thoughts. 4) Truck drivers are an important part of our society and should be able to weigh in on societal issues, as long as there is non hostile discussion. 5) I've been very impressed with all the well written and thoughtful comments here.

Hi Chief Brody, let me first say that I am in no way trying to be argumentative or combative. I only responded to hopefully correct the misconception of the original Egyptian burial practices. I as well am tired of the cultural lies being forced upon society. I believe that the answers/truth of the present are found in the past. That may be one reason why the "elites" try so hard to bury and disorder it. To find the truth you must start at the root.
You gave links to an article written by Joshua J. Mark, I'm not here to discredit anyone but I have to say that all scholars that write about this topic are merely speculating. To this day scholars debate about the topic in every aspect. Reverence for deceased loved ones is something I personally know about and do. We do not set food out for consumption, that's silly. I find it disrespectful that scholars would say or believe thats what is was for. We know that earthly material objects can not be used in the afterlife. That is also silly. So if we know that then the ancient Egyptians knew that as well. As I mentioned before about gold and what it was for, it wasn't until the rise of the 7 deadly sins (in my opinion) that tomb raiders came in and looted the Graves for material purposes. Mostly by foreigners.
Through my research I can see the progression of covetousness, lust, greed, envy ect.. througout history. I have studied history and do a lot of research. I do not cling to one source or believe the first thing I read or learn. I gather as much info and connect the dots. My views on ancient society/history change with the more info I obtain, so I will never call myself a scholar or believe to much what they say because for the most part they are one sided and tend to run off speculation.
I do appreciate the articles you sent. I'm always willing and ready to learn.

Davy, I was born and grew up in the Soviet Union, so I hear you very well. I know a lot of Russian Americans who literally do not believe their own eyes, looking at how America becomes closer and closer to what made them leave their country.

The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices
the real answer to why the food is still there is that the belief that the pharaoh consumed the food in the afterlife is wrong
The main reason why the food was not stolen is exactly the same that makes modern thieves take whatever is move valuable. One should not also forget that even 'contemporary' tomb robberies could have happened decades after burials, when food simply was rotten, dried out or became unedible. But in general, yes, these facts suggest that at least part of Egyptian society either did not take seriously an afterlife concept or knew their ways to deal with it...
Towsides11, you bring up a couple of goods points about truth, which is kinda theme of this thread.
I'm not here to discredit anyone but I have to say that all scholars that write about this topic are merely speculating.
It took me a while to find podcasts that were objective. Any scholar with integrity will acknowledge that our knowledge of ancient history is somewhat subjective. And often, there are competing theories. The same should be true about contemporary beliefs. However, just like many podcasts that I abandoned, people often choose the theory they like and present that theory as the final word on the subject. Same thing with Covid vaccine and wearing masks. As Brett has pointed out there has been an evolution the advice with regard to wearing masks.
Dr. Fauci said:
“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.”
Prior to this pandemic, avoiding touching your face was a key point of advice to keep from getting sick.
Don't want to get sick: don't touch your face.
But as Dr. Fauci pointed out, and as I witnessed when the "wear a mask" advice was issued, people constantly touched their face. So, one could believe that the advice to wear a mask actually INCREASED the spread of the virus. Again, it's just one theory that competes against the theory that wearing a mask prevents the spread of COVID 19. And I think that its a reasonable theory based on what was known about spreading disease prior to COVID 19. But when I have mentioned this to people they say the same thing that is the topic of the article: it's outdated. They then launch into the prevailing "silliness," to use your term, that COVID 19 is this magical, highly contagious virus different from anything mankind has experienced in modern medicine and since March 8, 2020, we have learned so much more about this "unique" virus that requires preventions procedures different than what health professionals have told us for decades. This media message, to use your phrase is kinda "silly." But yet, many people will truly believe this "Covid 19 is the most unusual pandemic in the history of the world" message.
And this relates to your other point:
We do not set food out for consumption, that's silly. I find it disrespectful that scholars would say or believe thats what is was for.
and
We know that earthly material objects can not be used in the afterlife. That is also silly. So if we know that then the ancient Egyptians knew that as well.
But, that is generally the well accepted scholarly view on Egyptian burial practices. The pharaohs were self-proclaimed gods. And the afterlife was basically considered a continuation of their life prior to their death. See the link to my article above.
While we consider that "silly" today, there are many other things that people believed throughout history that we consider "silly" today. The entire Greco-Roman Pantheon. The earth is flat. Witches that can cast spells. And, there are many silly people today with regard to wearing masks. When I was at Walgreens pharmacy the other day, the pharmacist, speaking to the woman through an intercom, asked the woman to take off her mask because he couldn't hear what she was saying. Apparently, she balked at taking of the mask, because I heard the pharmacists say "you're in you car alone. There is no one around you. You can take off your mask."
So, while Brett's point in this thread pertains to the Covid vaccine and the "plandemic," or "scamdemic" as some have called it. there is a larger theme that relates to Trucking Truth: think for yourself with intention of trying to find the truth. It's not always that easy, because it requires you to consider several different theories and choose one that you think is the best. And it often requires you to challenge what the experts tell you.
And with regard to Brett's crazy ideas and the "conspiracy theory" arguments that attempt to discredit people who challenge authority, Brett is spot on that he has history on his side. See the link below regarding how the CIA, who funded the 1954 movie Animal Farm, didn't like Snowball being treated as sympathetic and "intelligent, dynamic, courageous." Rather the CIA wanted Snowball characterized as a "fanatic intellectual whose plans if carried through would have led to disaster no less complete than under Napoleon."
As Mark Twain said:
History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
This has been a fascinating thread to prove the total discord between the populace regarding COVID.
Frankly, Brett brought the hammer down on a few people here, who appear they would have preferred living in Nazi Germany under Adolf's rule. I always appreciate Brett's brute honesty and bringing the receipts to support his opinions.

Brett is spot on about this. My wife escaped from The DDR - the socialist republic of East Germany with her two children and the clothes on her back. The couple that tried to do the same, a few cars in front of her didn't. They took the husband out and beat him, left him to die in the field next to the checkpoint. The wife and children were taken and incarcerated to be re-educated. The children would have become wards of the state and most likely would be killed if they didnt turn out to be good workers which would have entailed keeping their mouths shut.
For a country that even kept tallies of how much toilet paper was used, they stopped keeping track of suicides. The reason being that the quality of life was so pathetic there that many chose suicide. Of course, if you were a dissident or just not on board with Mr Marx's theories, you were likely to get "suicided" as well. If you are one to quote the official tally (put out by the UN) that only a mere 3490 people died trying to escape the DDR. You are sadly mistaken. Recent evidence supports numbers likely to be higher than 100,000. Its difficult to tell as the Stazi was quite adept at destroying records and keeping it silent. Rest assured though, It was a nation build on tyranny and corruption where anyone and everyone would turn in their friends, family and loved ones in for something as simple as bread that wasn't moldy or perhaps some fresh fruit.
Not a day goes by that she doesn't shake her head in frustration and sadness in watching our nation, that she fought so hard to get to, willingly go down the steps of socialism into hell. It took her 28 years to get her US citizenship.
Ive personally been to the Stazi prison a few times. Been to Sachsenhausen Prison Camp (KGV special camp number 7), which was run under Soviet rule for about 10 years after WW2, (It was one of the more brutal Nazi Concentration and death camps). During the Soviet era, upwards of 10,000 or more dissidents, politically undesirables, and just plain loud mouths were tortured and killed, you know, socialism is such a paradise, why would anyone reject it?
The censuring of political dissidents, the mask mandates, the governors and municipalities enacting draconian unconstitutional rules by executive decree, the shutting down of free commerce, the theft of private property by the CDC (a private partisan entity) in the moratorium on evictions and most largely, the methodology of the vote counting and coup that took place coupled with the media (state propaganda) are all pages out of the communist playbook. The only singular thing preventing a complete socialist take over of us currently is the threat of the armed citizen. The only thing preventing that threat from happening is that the quality of life here is still reasonably high for the time being.
In doing research for the novel Im in the process of writing detailing my wife's journey through the horrors of socialism and her eventual escape to freedom, Ive spent considerable amounts of time with people who lived through the hell of socialism, I can say with firm conviction, that I will risk catching a virus before I will ever risk losing freedom.
