Brett asks:
If masks can stop a virus, then why can't underwear stop a fart?
It's not the odor (chemicals of odor are not related to viruses.), but clothing, underpants and masks alike, are effective against bacteria.
Here the long answer, published in US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health
Dr Kruszelnicki (Julius Sumner Miller Fellow in the Science Foundation for Physics at the School of Physics, University of Sydney, Australia.) then described the method by which he had established whether human flatus was germ-laden, or merely malodorous. “I contacted Luke Tennent, a microbiologist in Canberra, and together we devised an experiment. He asked a colleague to break wind directly onto two Petri dishes from a distance of 5 centimetres, first fully clothed, then with his trousers down. Then he observed what happened. Overnight, the second Petri dish sprouted visible lumps of two types of bacteria that are usually found only in the gut and on the skin. But the flatus which had passed through clothing caused no bacteria to sprout, which suggests that clothing acts as a filter.
“Our deduction is that the enteric zone in the second Petri dish was caused by the flatus itself, and the splatter ring around that was caused by the sheer velocity of the fart, which blew skin bacteria from the cheeks and blasted it onto the dish. It seems, therefore, that flatus can cause infection if the emitter is naked, but not if he or she is clothed. But the results of the experiment should not be considered alarming, because neither type of bacterium is harmful. In fact, they're similar to the ‘friendly’ bacteria found in yoghurt.
The "The Great Barrington Declaration" has been discredited by all major health organizations from the WHO on down.
And the thousands who signed include:
"Mr Banana Rama", "Dr Johnny Bananas", "Dr Johnny Fartpants", "Dr Person Fakename", "Harold Shipman", "Professor Notaf Uckingclue", and "Prof Cominic Dummings". More than 100 psychotherapists, numerous homeopaths, physiotherapists, massage therapists, and other non-relevant people were found to be signatories, including a performer of Khoomei – a Mongolian style of overtone singing – described as a "therapeutic sound practitioner". The Independent (a British newspaper) noted that the false signatures put its claims about the breadth of its support in doubt, adding that several within the medical and scientific community were skeptical it enjoyed the support it claimed.

I never trusted the government. They are all corrupt. We have been lied to and misinformed by our experts. I discuss my healthcare with my doctor.
Do what you want with your own life, I don't care.
Interesting discussion.
I’m an emergency nurse who has worked through covid since January of last year. The current “surge” is real. At this point, I’ve treated patients with and without the jab; the sickest patients are those with comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, dialysis, heart failure, obesity, COPD), regardless of vaccine status.
My advice? Keep your weight down; take your vitamins; get exercise and good sleep; manage your medical issues with medications as prescribed by your doctor; eat a balanced diet. (Buttttt….y’all already know all of this, right???😊)
On the topic of mandated vaccinations for covid: I am leaving nursing (with bachelors degrees in nursing and cell/molecular biology, ER nursing certifications) in part due to the pressure placed upon me to obtain my covid vax. I am happy to hear there are trucking companies who respect my freedom to choose.
(I look forward to trucking and making connections here!)
Be blessed.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

The discussions even in this forum topic about the virus and vaccine are interesting and important, but no one should be labeled a 'terrorist' for opposing COVID measures. That's simply unhelpful, alarmist rhetoric. And I'm an atheist, but when did "religious holidays" and 9/11 remembrances become "Potential Terror Threats"?
The image isn't saying people who believe or observe those things are terror threats, it's saying those things may be why certain violent extremists may commit acts of terrorism. That's based on what they're hearing listening in on the chatter of these violent extremists groups.

I was hoping to see a medical professional chime in on this discussion. My wife has her bachelors degree in cell/molecular biology and her Masters in Clinical Research Administration. Needless to say, she’s pretty outspoken about how everything has gone down but focuses more on the process and companies involved. She’s mentioned the fact that with Pfizer pushing for FDA approval, she’s hoping they don’t cave and follow the processes as they’ve been written. In her own professional opinion, Pfizer should not be granted the approval because of steps they’ve taken which would be an absolute nail in the coffin because all of those doses would have to be taken off the market and they would have to submit everything again, following FDA protocols. If that were to happen, other countries would take notice and the other pharmaceutical companies would be in the crosshairs.
BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:
It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Folks, I've known several people who didn't want it but got it because they were pressured into it by the media, friends, family, and rumors. Do not let anyone pressure you into it.
If trucking companies required it, they would have a fleet of empty trucks in their terminal within a week.
If you've held out this long, just hang on a little longer. Do not let anyone pressure you into it.
Especially with the reports coming out now about side effects, and increasing evidence that the "vaccine" - which isn't actually a vaccine at all - may be causing the Delta variant, or at least contributing to it.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Thanks for the context and amplification. While the DHS does lay the groundwork for a "guilt by association" kind of situation, you gotta love NBC Nightly News painting with broad strokes and stoking the fires. At any rate, I appreciate your clarification and nuance--we need more of that everywhere.

That is the conclusion you the viewer are expected to come to - that a belief there was vote fraud in the 2020 election (which there clearly was) or opposition to "COVID measures" - meaning, apparently, the wildly disproportionate responses to a disease having a 98 ~ 99% recovery rate - are "terrorist threats." No other conclusion suggests itself.

Midnight Fox, I respectfully disagree. They mean it literally the way they said it. Here's why......
Understand the authoritarian playbook.
1) A lie told once is only a lie. A lie told 1,000 times becomes the truth
2) Always accuse the enemy of doing exactly what you're doing
3) Create a crisis or "false flag" event and use that chaos as an excuse to seize more power in the name of "security for the people" and to distract from other things you're hoping to hide
4) Declare anyone who talks against your authority as an enemy of the state and eliminate them. You must have a zero-tolerance policy toward any sort of debate or questioning of authority.
In the U.S. it seems unthinkable that someone would declare you an enemy of the State or a terrorist in your own nation simply because you're speaking your mind and sharing your opinion. After all, our Constitution makes free speech a God-given right.
But you saw it yourself yesterday as Greg equated me with the Unabomber. He could have equated me with any number of people who peacefully and respectfully speak their minds and stand up for what they believe in, but his first thought was to equate me to a terrorist who sent bombs through the mail. Why? Because that's what he's been hearing on television. That's how brainwashing works. Your beliefs become completely detached from reality as you tout the authoritarian narrative.
I'm the most peaceful person imaginable, and he publicly called me out as a terrorist. Brainwashing....it works on some people......that's why they do it.
Ask anyone who lived through Hitler, Stalin, or any authoritarian regimes and they'll tell you that's exactly how it works. If you say anything that goes against the authority, you are the enemy and they will silence or eliminate you without mercy. No one willingly follows a dictator. It's only through fear and force that they keep power.
This has been a surreal experience. As others have said, I've always known this was possible, but never in my lifetime did I expect something like this to happen to the United States. Not the enemy inside our own gates. I don't think many people ever expected this to happen to us.
I'm loving this conversation. You folks are stepping up to the plate and putting your honest feelings out there. You're showing a lot of courage and fortitude. We need it! As you can see, we still have some folks who are asleep. They simply can not see what is happening or will not allow themselves to see it. They are either too simple-minded or too heavily invested in their preferred narrative to allow new information to change their mind. Well, I guess we're just gonna have to drag them along with us as we work toward reviving the U.S. into the Promised Land we all love so much!
Much respect folks!

I'll out myself as being fairly far to the left (I live in Chicago, for g*d's sake, lol), but I also have a fairly strong libertarian streak (aka, 'live and let live.'). This graphic that Brett shares is truly scary: The discussions even in this forum topic about the virus and vaccine are interesting and important, but no one should be labeled a 'terrorist' for opposing COVID measures. And I assume the likening you, Brett, to Ted Kaczynski was not meant as a compliment, but I've actually read his manifesto ("Industrial Society and Its Future"). As a social theorist, he is actually pretty intelligent, saying things like the government has taken all the power away to determine the things that really matter in our lives (housing, food, healthcare, etc.), so we're merely left with power over insignificant things in life, and thus we lose ourselves in distractions (aka, 'surrogate activities'). The problem with Uncle Ted comes in the fact that he (in my view) violated his own principles in sending mail bombs in order to get attention and get newspapers to print his beloved manifesto.
And here is my point (you were hoping I had one, I know): 1) We should be open to hearing all viewpoints, no matter how unlikely the source. This is where Banks is right about asking questions and Errol is right about critical thinking. 2) The problem comes in when anyone tries to resort to coercion, be that the government or Uncle Ted.
