I just dusted off my account to reply to this thread. I hope it doesn't get deleted because I found it to be informative and helpful. Perhaps there are others who also found it useful but haven't commented.
I made the move back to the US recently, but with all that's happened in the last 18 months I thought that trucking might have gone through some significant changes in a far stricter direction, especially regarding requirements to get one of the COVID shots. I am glad to see that at least some companies are leaving it up to their drivers.
Interesting discussion.
I’m an emergency nurse who has worked through covid since January of last year. The current “surge” is real. At this point, I’ve treated patients with and without the jab; the sickest patients are those with comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, dialysis, heart failure, obesity, COPD), regardless of vaccine status.
My advice? Keep your weight down; take your vitamins; get exercise and good sleep; manage your medical issues with medications as prescribed by your doctor; eat a balanced diet. (Buttttt….y’all already know all of this, right???😊)
On the topic of mandated vaccinations for covid: I am leaving nursing (with bachelors degrees in nursing and cell/molecular biology, ER nursing certifications) in part due to the pressure placed upon me to obtain my covid vax. I am happy to hear there are trucking companies who respect my freedom to choose.
(I look forward to trucking and making connections here!)
Be blessed.
By the way, Lulu, I am not a lawyer, but if you haven't already resigned you might want to talk to one about your options. It might be more beneficial to you to force them to fire you for not taking the vaccine with them giving the reasons in writing. That way you might have recourse in the future when the tide hopefully shifts.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
This is a sad reality of our time - everything became binary to such an extent, that it is impossible to voice an opinion without being automatically categorized into one of the two existing groups. Topic doesn't matter, it can be domestic politics, food, genders, vaccines, you name it...
Unfortunately, that is by design and it's incredibly toxic and un-American.
Intelligent people who are looking for the best solutions for our society are always willing to discuss things openly and honestly. That's how it should be. Open and honest debates bring all the best ideas to light. Then you decide what solution makes the most sense. Simple.
But think about it from an authoritarian standpoint. If you're a dictator, do you want open and honest conversations? Do you want authentic debates? Do you want the people to put their heads together and come up with the best solution for society?
Hell no! Obviously not!
What you want is complete and uncompromising control of everyone and everything. You want your way, every time. So how do you accomplish that?
You start by telling people what they must believe. Then, you turn any dissenters into enemies. You "cancel" them from your society. You demonize them, censor them, imprison them, and kill them. There can only be one view - the dictator's view. All other views are treasonous, and they must eliminate those traitors.
In today's situation, think mainstream media control, social media censorship, and vaccine passports. You tell people what they must believe using the media; you censor the dissenters and flood the channels with propaganda using social media; you label dissenters as dangerous traitors and cancel them by banning them from social media and keeping them out of society using vaccine passports.
Dictate "the truth" and then identify and eliminate the traitors.
I mentioned earlier that Greg was being a good minion by carrying out the authoritarian playbook as television had instructed him to. I gave opinions that were peaceful, patriotic, reasonable, and fact-based, but they went contrary to the "official narrative" so Greg immediately called me a terrorist and equated me to someone who sent bombs through the mail to kill people. Doesn't matter that I wouldn't actually harm a fly. He labeled me as the enemy and now I'm a danger to society.
But did Greg go far enough? Certainly not! He only carried out part of his orders. He didn't finish the job.
He had to take the ultimate step and "cancel me" from his life. He wants his account deleted and said he will never return. There will be no open and honest discussions with Greg, no compromise, no give and take, no peaceful and respectful exchange of ideas.
There is only one way to see the world, and that's Greg's way. If you don't agree, then you are the enemy and he will eliminate you.
Do you see how this stuff works, folks? Dictate "the truth" and then identify and eliminate the traitors.
Personally, I love a spirited debate because I love to learn all I can about the world around me. If someone says their opinion differs from mine, the first thought I have is, "Maybe I'm missing something! This might be an opportunity to learn something new and important." So I always dive right in.
I'm happy to continue this discussion. I believe it's critical for the future of our free society, and these principles apply to our personal and professional lives. You won't get anywhere in trucking if you can't get along with people. You must learn to compromise and work through challenging situations or disagreements.
Greg, there's no reason for you to run away. Why can't you stay and have an open and honest conversation?
Brett, you are reading my mind! Open discussion is all we need, and at the same time it is what a lot of people fear most of all.

It's a mixture of things. First is the condescending, holier than thou attitude. You saw it from Errol first hand here when he told me to "get back in the truck and hit the road" and when he insinuated that I'm not capable of critical thinking because I wouldn't agree with him.
Second is cancel culture. "Agree with me or I will ruin your life". It has every professional from politicians to doctors afraid to give their true opinions.
Lastly, is the name calling. If you say anything that goes against the agenda, you're a racist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, to misogynistic, etc.
Brett, it basically boils down to that I strongly disagree with just about everything that you personally write. I then waste way too much time in my head coming up with elegant replies before saying "screw it, it's not worth it." I then realize that I have spent all this mental effort on some dude living in the woods who I have never met. That in turn makes me angry at myself because I could have been thinking about motorcycle projects or my next stock option trade.
You have called me a sheep a few times because I believe the science, and that is true. I guess the reason is that I don't have a Phd in any of the related fields required to combat this. I haven't spent decades studying the subject matter in order to tackle the challenges we now face. It cracks me up to hear people who I know have made a lifetime of bad decisions become passionate over "the jab". "Sure I've had domestic issues, limited education, trouble holding jobs, substance abuse issues and problems with the law, they say, but I know this is all fake." Real credible.
Thing about this pandemic is the timing. It managed to hit at a time when the most ridiculous things are politicized and social media is what it is. Suddenly someone can decide what they want to believe regardless of any other data, find a few sources that seem to fit their vision, locate a few like minded individuals and by God we have a movement.
By keeping posts like this going you just keep stoking the fires. And before you yell censorship you know damm well that at this point no one is going to be changing their mind's. They have too much invested in the belief system they have created. And honestly I think the craziness of posts like this have damaged your brand. Your analytics may say differently but I don't see the level of help and successful outcomes that we used to see.
In closing let me give you a little free consulting advice:
I am assuming that this site is monetized and that you receive commissions/referral fees for the candidates you send on to the training companies via you application process. My wife was the office manager for an internet startup firm that did something very similar and some of those checks were mind blowing.
In my prior career I spent 27 years with a large financial services company, you've seen their ads during the Super Bowl. For about 10 of those years I was in an area called Risk Management. One of the projects we would do were something we called Vender Risk Assessments. We would basically review individual venders to make sure the firm was protected. We would look at financial controls, date security, intellectual property, reputational factors, among other things.
Imagine that I am in a similar role at Prime, CRST, PAM etc and decide to take a look at good ole TruckingTruth.com. I decide to start with their website and locate this series of posts. I quickly realize that this guy Brett, who happens to be the same guy our contact is with, has some pretty controversial ideas and the whole conversation seems border line hostile, subjective I know but much of this analysis is. I then discover that with just a couple clicks there is my bright and shiny corporate logo with an invitation to apply to work for our company. I would then think to my self "That was pretty seamless, is it possible that people might associate our company with that content and assume those are our beliefs?
My report would say that yes it is possible. My recommendation would be to get TT under control or get us out of the relationship. We ended multi million dollar contracts on situations less damning then this.
Now can you delete my profile?
Greg, there's no reason for you to run away. Why can't you stay and have an open and honest conversation?
Operating While Intoxicated
Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Nobody here, as far as I know, disagreeing with you has had those issues. More of that condescending talk. See my post above his.
Suddenly someone can decide what they want to believe regardless of any other data
That's a two way street.
And before you yell censorship you know damm well that at this point no one is going to be changing their mind's.
I'd be willing to change my mind if the profitable, liability free vaccine worked like a vaccine.
. I quickly realize that this guy Brett, who happens to be the same guy our contact is with, has some pretty controversial ideas and the whole conversation seems border line hostile
Disagreeing is hostile and anti-science. Don't ask why questions, just blindly follow.
My report would say that yes it is possible. My recommendation would be to get TT under control or get us out of the relationship.
More of that oppressive cancel culture. "Do what we say or we will ruin you."

You better take it or else.
