I live in Tucson and there is a few place's that will train you after Graduation. You looking for Skateboard or Box work?. You need to keep yourself open for anything to get you started and upon your yr of OTR you can look for something closer to your family. Or if you want to do local FedEx and those types of places are looking for driver's as well.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Box work would be good. Any companies that hire to train?
I would like to drive a milk tanker or LTL but those jobs require 1-3 experience.
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.

My opinion would be, its best to get yourself 1-2 yrs OTR experience under your belt, then try for an LTL gig.

Hey T.W.
It's extremely difficult to find local work straight out of school as you're starting to see already. You can normally find something that will get you home on weekends, but to be home every night or LTL kinda stuff usually requires some experience.
We have an excellent listing of Truck Driving Jobs and you can even Apply For Truck Driving Jobs With One Application and have it sent to as many companies as you like. Take a look and see what you can find there but it's going to be awfully tough to get something local straight out of school.

I kind of figured it would be tough to find something locally.
I will apply on the one application process on your forum and see what's out there. If I have to go OTR then that is what I will do.
Thanks, Brett.

I'm currently working on getting my CDL at an independent trucking school. I am seeking out truck driving jobs, preferably LTL truck driving jobs or local truck driving jobs that hire without experience
Thanks.
