Suffocate it while it sleeps. Or you could try to dig up some dirt on it and blackmail it...but I like the first option better. 😁
Suffocate it while it sleeps.
Skynet kids don't sleep LOL
Mine does the same. If you have the volume up on it, you will hear it tell you that it thinks the road is closed ahead. Check the settings for live traffic. It's also why I keep Google maps running as well. It has more accurate data on what roads and traffic are. I also check my route first using the rand McNally truckers Atlas. Oh and I also have an old rand McNally truck GPS going on my zonar. Yep. 3 gps. It's outdated but between the three of them I get good data on rest stops and truck stops
That makes sense, I'll try to turn live traffic off and see what changes. What is zonar?
My Rand McNally will do this occasionally. Very important to pay attention and not just blindly follow the GPS.
If the company supplies you with their tablet and navigation, why are these other devices needed? I used the Trucker's Atlas for every assignment, but I'm not knowledgeable about the advantages of the Garmin, etc.
Just trying to learn about them here. Thanks in advance!
Not all companies provide a GPS. Crete/Shaffer does not.
You can't change that on a Garmin. You can either disconnect your phone from it or know your route and drive what you know. I know and drive my route. Mine likes to tell me the interstate is closed.

If you cannot make it stop perhaps you can go back in time and try to destroy the technology that was left behind (Arnold's hand) but be careful because.....I'll be back!!

I have a Garmin OTR 500, and in general it is a good device. One issue I am dealing with is that sonetimes it changes the route without asking. (My settings have two options: the fastest and off-road.) I punch in an address, it calculates two routes, I select one, begin driving, and then suddenly it switches to some othet route. It seems like it is related ro traffic slowdowns, that's fine, but is there any way to control it?
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
