Vaccinated people are less likely to get covid-19, and when they do get it, they don't get it as severely. They're also less contagious. We need a higher vaccine coverage for herd immunity.

I was going to ask that same question....

Appearantly chairman vegetable needs a lesson in what would happen to the country if even half of us truckers went on strike.

This country is perilously close to a second war for independence, largely for the same reason the first one was faught for

Well, guess I wont look for a driving job for a few more months of driving. Have plenty of cash stacked, to survive just fine.....As a matter of fact, I just filled out the forms online to start my social security after my 12/1/21 official retirement date.....

Besides I got many other talents I can make money at, working for myself anyways..... Just waiting n watching for the re-opening of the Philippines to tourism, so I can get the hell outta the US.

BUT I still don't think this will come to fruition... But then look at how SHTF so far, by this ignorant demented moron.... For his lack of concern for what just happened with the Taliban, He should'a already been executed, along with the rest of em on the left!!

Seriously, Stevo ... you'd make more taking a job as a LUMPER for the 3 months before you leave. Look into it. A guy at one of Tom's receivers (Issa, real name) is just that...yet he ALSO works at said consignee.

He makes MORE than Tom, atm..because said consignee allows him to 'freelance.' (And having his CDLA allows him to back UP the hostler...and he does.)

Don (H.) probably knows exactly whom I speak of, haha!

G'nite, yall. Ttys, Stevo!

.

Thanks for including a link, Anne--I could hardly believe this proposal applied to all workers, not just federal workers, but that is indeed correct. Here's an article from CNN: 6 Step Covid Plan

Interestingly, even this liberal-leaning news source admits: "Even in workplaces without a mandate, only a minority of employees are unvaccinated -- less than a third in an ABC News/Washington Post poll. But a majority of those said they would rather quit than get the shot."

I tend to lean a bit to the left (though I don't love Biden and have a strong libertarian streak), but this is... interesting, with strong potential implications for trucking. It's interesting to have this applied so universally: Currently, I work in a public library, where I interact with a lot of people in person, including kids. Though trucking involves interactions, surely it's a bit different and a "one-size-fits-all" isn't always the best?

Anyway, I just wanted to throw another source into the mix.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Doesn't really bother me. I mean, we have to get DOT physicals to drive. Some people have to have sleep studies and use cpap machines to drive. We have to take safety classes, get TWIC cards, etc. A little vaccine isn't going to force me to quit my job. It's will be just another requirement in a long list of requirements.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

CPAP:

Constant Positive Airway Pressure

CPAP is a breathing assist device which is worn over the mouth or nose. It provides nighttime relief for individuals who suffer from Sleep Apnea.

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

You do realize it was Trump that made the deal with the Taliban, right? For that matter, what do you think Biden should have done differently? Yes, lets advocate the execution of over half the American public. Brilliant.
