Whichever ones are IFTA approved would be my guess. The companies would have to prove to the authorities that their devices worked with a reasonable degree of accuracy, and IFTA may not accept tracking calculations from non-approved devices.
That said, I would expect all major brands to be approved, check the boxes in the stores to see if they have something on the packaging saying something like "Approved by IFTA" or "IFTA Approved" somewhere on them

Don't need a device to track fuel mileage. For years driver have tracked mileage with pen and paper. Write down the odometer reading when you enter the state and write it down when you leave the state. There is no approved or unapproved devices that track mileage. It all depends on the driver.
Thank you, Guyjax...we had always done it that way...kept it in a little book, and then when we filled out our trip sheets, it all went on there...Then we matched it to our fuel tax quarterlies, when they came out...Paperwork..gotta love it.

Yeah, but the OP asked specifically about GPS systems. While drivers may be allowed to do it themselves using pen and paper, or lipstick and tissue napkins, or pencil and whatever, when it comes to automated electronic devices many bureaucracies demand tey have the right stickers and authorizations before accepting those results as accurate.
from your response it sounds like IFTA doesn't care HOW it is collated so long as you have some data to give them, not always the case where some desk jockey sees a chance to brown nose the boss by suggesting a new regulation or rule.
The following information was provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation:
Electronic Data Recording Systems
For tax reporting purposes, on-board recording devices, vehicle track- ing systems, or other electronic data recording systems may be used instead of or in addition to handwritten trip reports. Other equipment-monitoring devices that transmit data or that can be used to determine vehicle location or travel may be used to supplement or verify handwritten or electronically generated trip reports. On-board recording or vehicle tracking devices can be used in conjunction with manual systems or in conjunction with computer systems. Any device or electronic system used in conjunction with a device must meet all of the requirements stated of the IFTA Procedures Manual (Section P600 through P670).
