What if the vaccine really does help stop the spread of covid-19, and not getting the vaccine then leads to spreading the disease to others? Why should people have the right to put others at risk?
I don't know why truck drivers think they know better than medical doctors. I've been vaccinated for covid-19 three times now. No major issues with the vaccine at all. All my relatives and friends have also not had any major issues with the vaccine.
If the vaccine stops the spread why are many places reporting record numbers despite 60% vaccination rate nationally? Why are so many people having "breakthrough" cases? Look at sports for example. How many players have tested positive despite most people in their facilities being vaccinated?
Nearly everything in life comes with risks. I could go drive down to the local store today and run somebody over. Does that mean we should outlaw vehicles because I don't have the right to put others at risk? If you're scared of covid stay home or take steps to protect yourself. It's not necessarily that truck drivers think they know more. The problem comes with the information being shared is very contradicting. Why is it Biden is saying this winter is going to be a winter of death for unvaccinated due to Omicron, yet Fauci and WHO are saying death tolls are much lower than other strains. It's just a virus and it's not going away. Maybe we should all just live in a bubble and have no interaction with others. Want to save more lives? How about we ban all alcohol, cigarettes, unhealthy food and drinks. Those factor into far more deaths than covid.
I took the J&J jab back in August or so for personal reasons. Not that I'm afraid of covid but wanting to see family members that are at a higher risk. I was told by them that was the only way it'd happen. I had no side effects but that doesn't mean others don't. Getting vaccinated is a personal decision. With that being said I'm against requiring people to get it, I will not be getting any boosters and my children sure as hell aren't getting it.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
Rob,
I got curious how alcohol related deaths compared to covid-19 deaths per year in the US. It's 815K for covid-19 and 95k for alcohol. So ~8.6x more deadly. Then again, I've seen people around here claiming covid-19 deaths are exaggerated. Anyway, they don't claim the vaccines totally stop the spread, they just help. Apparently the pfizer vaccines appear to only be 70% effective to the new Omnicron variant. Depressing.
I think we're just going to be stuck with covid-19 like we are with the flu. Alas, it's more deadly.
Rob,
Then again, I've seen people around here claiming covid-19 deaths are exaggerated. . They are exaggerated. Just like the case count. The media would love for you to believe that this thing just spreads like wildfire and that hospitals are packed. Neither are true.

Are you just now coming to that realization Chris? I thought that was old news. There will never be a such thing as zero Covid.
Well I screwed that quoting up. My points were that the death count Is exaggerated. Just like the case count. The media would love for you to believe that this thing just spreads like wildfire and that hospitals are packed. Neither are true. And there will never be zero Covid. I thought that was common knowledge already.

Omnicron isn't deadly. There has only been 1 death to date.
Your numbers on COVID are also skewed. 800k deaths out of over 50 million cases. That's a 97% survival rate (probably higher when you consider unreported cases). Then you have to consider comorbidities like cancer, diabetes, smokers, obesity and old age.
If people we're really worried about COVID, they would do what they had to do to be healthy, instead they're more concerned about what other people are doing and begging the government and big pharma to take care of them. Big pharma is a business. They don't cure people. Another person cured is a lost customer.
My house is 0-4 when it comes to the vaccine preventing Covid. Not a great day at the plate for J&J.
Personally, I don't care if someone does or does not get it it is their choice. I am however against forcing people to do so.

Good for you. My personal experience is very different. I have barely recovered after a flu shot in 2010, so I have good reasons to expect problems from a Covid vaccine. Should I take such a risk just to make happy some dumbf*s like Faucci? A silly question with an obvious answer.

I don't blame you for not wanting to get covid 19 vaccines if you've had a bad reaction to a vaccine in the past. It's not about making Faucci happy, however. I don't care what he thinks about anything because, like you said, he's dumb. I do it because it seems like the right thing. *shrugs*

More predictable virtue signaling.
*Yawns*
