Happened to me my first year...at our terminal. I was freaking out, a seasoned driver saw what happened. Thank God it was still on the rails. Helped me crank it up...this was at like at midnight. A lesson learned. Don't be in a hurry, don't take short cuts. Bad things happen when you're in a hurry.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
To this day I still duck walk under each trailer and visually make sure the kingpin is locked and check my kingpin pull handle everytime I come back to my truck if I was out of eyesight.

Recently I’ve wondered if visually inspecting and tug testing EVERY time was still necessary. Today I was reminded YES! This poor guy was still working on it when I left two hours later. And check out the name of the company on the truck. 😲
