I like the omnitracs system myself. I've never used the peoplenet but those I've talked to that have don't seem to care for it. If you can see the entire clock while driving or in drive mode then they have yours set up as a trainer truck. For solo drivers they disable most features including looking at that plus reading messages while in drive mode. You can hear messages but not read them which sucks since the omnitracs' voice sounds like a female Stephen Hawking.

Big Scott. I thought you were a trainer or training to be a CFI trainer. Are you going to be a trainer on this new dedicated route?

I stopped training because I got tired of sharing my truck.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

If you're with CFI, hit the three vertical bars (menu button) on the bottom. If the compliance screen there you can switch screens while driving.

Update: Been doing this dedicated about 3 weeks now. It's a different game. I am no more worried about recaps or my 70. I only worry about my 11 and 14. From the time I leave the house Monday morning it's drive as hard as I can to get to the next stop with the goal of getting home as quickly as possible. Due to traffic and other factors beyond my control I have yet to get home on a Friday. It has been late Saturday morning. I usually have all my loads sent to my Omnitracks by Monday. On Friday I usually have Monday's load. I pick up in SC go to IL. From IL to KS then back to NC.

I did not lose my FM which is great.

So far I'm happy with it.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
