Your dash cam is insurance for your CDL. Don't buy something crappy because you save a few dollars. I run a Garmin 66W. Easy to use, 1440p, and pairs with my phone.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
I thought trucking companies installed dash cams themselves? That's not the case?
Yes, Chris, some companies do install their own cams, not all...Mostly mega carriers do
If you don’t mind making the investment, I’m a big fan of the Falcon Eye systems. Mine is the three camera system with battery backup for constant peace of mind when parked and while at home.

My small company of 22 trucks does also...4 cameras: 1 in windshield facing forward, one on each door facing backward, and the driver facing one which is covered up 😉

I like the Falcon Eye also. I have the 3 camera system but it needs to be sent back to someone to have it gone over...not sure what my brother did to it but it doesn't really work now.

I see several people recommend Eagle/Falcon Eye. Are they sold at Pilot?

I purchased that one a few years ago at the Iowa 80 truck stop, a TA/Petro partner. I cannot recall seeing these at a Pilot/J, but I've not really paid close attention.
Affordable was the only criteria asked for.
I use a low cost cam. $50 gets me the cam and 128GB card to record 30 rolling hours of 1080i
What it lacks is connection options. USB only. Very rarely I saved videos, only like 4 so far. That's not why I bought it. Audio is turned off.

I would like to get a dashcam. What does everyone use that's affordable, easy to use, and of good quality?
