Title says it all. Hopefully I can get her to get on the forum and tell her story herself but the condensed version is she was trying to get into the medical field and has been studying for years but trucking provides a faster way of being able to pay bills right now. Maybe she’ll still do the medical field down the road but for now she’s going to be getting in a truck. She just got her permit and starts school on the 6th so please wish her luck!

I know the first question everyone is going to ask is if we’re going to team drive lol. I wish but she has a couple young kids so will be starting off local and is still looking for the right gig. We were both hoping for linehaul for her but after calling all of them that I could think of she will probably start with something else and eventually transition into that. Anyways I’m super excited and feel like a kid about the whole thing. Trucking has its problems and struggles but you can’t convince me driving a big rig ain’t cool and she feels the same.

Linehaul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

Thanks Anne! I don’t have a YouTube but hopefully she gets on and joins the TT family 😊

That’s exiting you’ll be getting on the road too! I’m sure you’re excited about that!

Good luck to your girlfriend; hope she’s able to find something that doesn’t take too much time away from her kids.

Thank you, we are hoping to find the same. I might be able to switch to home every night doing Home Depot loads if that’ll help but we’re not sure at this point.

Congrats!!! My GF is also a driver. She was/is still a proffessional ferrier. She has had her cdl 3 years now and worked with me for 2. It’s not always easy, but we make it work. I trained her on tanks and we teamed some.

I’m happy for ya’ll and wish you the best in the new adventure!!!

Congrats!

FedEx freight is hiring driver apprentices in Colorado Springs. They're hiring for both city and road, which means there's a chance you'll have a choice on which one you do. It's how I got my start and I have no regrets.

Welcome to TT, Shantiwa!

IMHO, you've got you a great guy :) Super best wishes getting into this industry, it's awesome.

Anything I can ever do to help. . . please let me know. Here, or elsewhere! I'll see ya out there, in 2022 myself, hoping!

ps: Truckin' Along with Kearsey . . . worth the watch!
