Good to see someone else join the darkside. Feel weird having a window behind you instead of a bed?

Pro tip keep a shovel with you dollies do not like to roll over snow. Even a little snow can make the dolly kick one way or the other while trying to catch the rear.

real truckers drive daycabs. Don't let Packrat tell you anything different.

He just gets jealous of us, that's all

I felt a minor disturbance of The Force. Yawn........

I'm glad to see your return here, but I'm happier to read how you've surged forward in this career and with your future, G-Town.

Big changes, G-Town! I'm glad you found a gig you like in a place you want to settle down in. The Cape May-Lewes ferry is a nice trip to the South Jersey shore if you're looking for a relaxing day trip when the weather turns more pleasant again. It's good to see you back here and congratulations!

Warm welcome back, G.

Although I understand the reasons for your absence. It just hasn't been the same around here without you. I knew of your new gig, but not of the new digs. Good luck in all you do, pal.

I’m not skilled enough to back a Dolly on the back of a trailer so I just use tractor to back it to my trailer

Glad to see you back. How long did it take to get the hang of building the doubles?

double-quotes-end.png

About 1 week. Backing the dolly up to the trailing unit was the hardest part. It’s 12’ long and requires minimal steering input. I run 4 sets per night; 2 loads and 2 empties.

Thank you!

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

G-Town,

Glad to see you back. I hope you enjoy it in Lewes. I lived in Seaford for many years and loved every day and the state in general. I drove for the old Conway before XPO and the doubles experience became second nature. We only moved to Florida after retiring to be in a warmer climate. Enjoy your new gig and the state.
