Your right I need to just be giddy and happy about this amazing opportunity at Melton Truck Lines! I literally was trying in 2017 to come over here and couldn't because of a ticket not old enough and now I am here! Yayay! Its been pretty surreal!

Victor... there is no need to bad mouth Western Express. It’s beneath you...

Rob T and Gtown, yes I can improve and here at Melton, I have really improved on many attitudes and mentality to strive to be better at open deck my end goal is RGN and Specialized hauling. You have much wisdom and I will take all into consideration.

It's amazing to me that you continue to bash Western Express. I think you're forgetting your history.. Swift fired you after you had 5 incidents in 5 months and blamed your trainer for it. Pam f decided not to move forward with you during training and you took some time off and then Western Express gave you a shot. What do they get for it? Constantly bad mouthed for who knows what reason.

I can't wait till next year when you come back and tell us why Melton is so horrible. Hopefully, you won't have to consider quitting again because a glad hand is facing the wrong direction and a trailer is in the mud. Then there's the time you wanted to quit because your trainer wasn't nice to you.

As much advice as you've gotten Victor, you continue to play victim like you have it that bad. Truth is, you don't. You just like to cry woe is me and look for sympathy.

False. But you know what I dont need to defend myself to someone who thinks they know something they do not. And honestly, with the way Melton supports their drivers and gives incredible training for two weeks prior to handing out ID's and Comdata cards and thats even before their badges they give, I wouldnt have a whole lot to bash them on and on top of that all of their drivers really love this company so I am going to say that this time around IF I dont do well it will be on me entirely and quite frankly Mr. Banks, I think you assume a little to much, I told gtown that I would stop bashing that not so great company so I wont but like I said, I dont have to explain myself to someone who assums and presumes things they dont know. Oh and its called a diary for a reason not some thread. You are suppost to put difficult and good times in there so whats the deal? Oh and yes trainers can be blamed when they dont follow protocol or are abusive. Lucky for me my last trainer in dry van is a great friend of mine.

Dry Van:

A trailer or truck that that requires no special attention, such as refrigeration, that hauls regular palletted, boxed, or floor-loaded freight. The most common type of trailer in trucking.

Victor, you said to me about WE:  "Sorry not sorry, they are terrible. Some companies deserve their reputation full stop."

In fact, that statement goes both ways, some drivers are terrible and deserve their reputation full stop as well. Are you one of them? I don't know but the way you run down literally the ONLY company that would help you out leaves the question open for interpretation doesn't it? I have hope that you indeed are better than that like G-Town says but surely you understand how it looks to the rest of the people here when you do that.

When Banks brings up truth like this you should consider NOT bad mouthing them and perhaps working on improving your attitude, especially toward, again, THE ONLY COMPANY THAT WOULD HIRE YOU. An attitude like that will only bring you down in life where a good attitude can lift you up.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

Victor, if you want to be a fighter pilot one of the toughest jobs to get in the airforce you are going to have to toughen up a lot.

I forsee a post in your future about how bad the airforce is because the flight instructor was mean and they didn't treat like a king.

I do wish you luck and am glad you are happy so far Melton.

Okay Mikey, I will take that point to heart. I see that very clearly now. In 6 months I am going to be rolling to University for starting the bachelors degree (also disclosed to the recruiters prior to hire) and then I planned on going back to Melton. By the time I get done with this 6 month period 1 year and 5 months of experience altogether and 9 months of flatbed. What are some personal goals and some things you would encourage yourself with when the going was and is tough or you feel like giving up? Thanks for the advice!

By that time I will be in Liberty or Regent University and I will already have been a successful Melton driver because of the improvements of attitude toward determination and commitment that I have gained and not letting others criticism get me down when it becomes destructive. I am sure I have much more to improve on but tellin the truth aint one.

Well lets just say dealing with the elements and tough people at shippers will give me good practice and that forception wont be correct because I will be a lot more tough skinned and soft heart and I am working on what that means.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Victor... you are all over the place. You threw WE under the bus and now after only two weeks with Melton you are touting them as the best trucking company on the planet? And hijacking other threads in the process. You’re exhausting the patience of this forum.

Victor if you want to be credible, believable, share your experience and ONLY share your experience. You haven’t been at Melton long enough to understand what they are all about. And are in no position to recommend them as nothing more than one of several good flatbed company options.

Your focus needs to turn inward. Remember a good driver; safe and efficient, can be successful at the majority of companies, including Western Express. You haven’t demonstrated anything remotely close to that... sorry, that’s documented.

So please take a healthy dose of reality. “Walk” all the “talk” Victor. Your rope at Melton will be far shorter than the one you had at WE. Use it wisely.

Again... please! Share only your experience at Melton sparing us from the commercials and sales pitch. Thank you.
