Bruce did you not say that since December you had things going on like medical issues, paperwork issues, unscheduled time off etc? To say you’ve only made 1,000 dollars since December 5th well you’re making it sound like that is completely Schneider’s fault. Am I wrong?

Nope, not Schneider’s fault. Like I said, both of us want to to get me on the road and bad luck is bad luck. I would say that their return to work process is slow and cumbersome and runs drivers ragged getting all the paperwork summited. I was ready to go back to work Dec 15 but it took 3 more weeks to get back driving today. But I really enjoyed the approximately 30 minutes I did get in. Made about $16 on that, lol.

Just for chuckles, this is something another driver found and sent to me about First Source Solutions

First Source: “ Hey driver, you’ve been out for a while and it seems like you’re ready to return to work. Before that we’ll need some documentation from you, to include your DOT long form and a 5 page essay on the theory of relativity for us to review, which will take 7 to 10 business days. We’ll give you a call back when we have what we need and we’ll get you taken care of!”

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Just a little update. Tuesday I got into a truck, scheduled to go out Wednesday morning, early, headed out and drove 30 miles when I had a engine shutdown due to antifreeze in the fuel. I was on I41 and thank goodness I was in the right lane. No power steering but I managed to get it over to the shoulder with the trailer also off the right lane. Got towed to the repair facility and they fixed it today. Got back on the road at 1630 and made it to Gary, IN at 2200. Great to be back driving again.

Good luck, Bruce.

Did they say what the repair was? Sounded like a major problem.

Somehow antifreeze got into the fuel system. But they got the truck into the shop first thing Thursday morning and had it ready to go about 3:30 that afternoon. Pretty impressive turn around time in my opinion. Stevo probably knows about that issue
