Just a bit of curiosity on standard practices by companies and O/O. I was placed in a new truck spring of last year, from a ‘18 Cascadia to a ‘22 with fourteen miles on it. Up to 82,000 now.

Lube and inspection services came and went several times, but I scratched my head at when they would change the oil and filter. confused.gif

Was on the phone with maintenance last week, come to find out it’s scheduled for 100k. Factory oil, new truck, turn and burn? Some research says it shouldn’t be that long. Just wondering what’s standard for y’all.

Also got a brand new 2022 FL w/2,673 miles on it, at my new company. By sticker on aluminum door to def cap says 40k due CRST ran em 50k and then they don't replace the 2 fuel filters on the side of engine, which in my day, EVERY filter got replaced.....

El Cheapo's, drove a100k and I never got new fuel filters on the PM's, they wait til they're plugged up lol Told em in the shop, that's cheap insurance, saves a possible break down and tows duhhhhh

Can't fix stooopid huh lol

Ouch. No way I would run that far on oil.

I am old school. Every 17-20k my oil gets changed along with every filter on this truck. Also a full grease job and brakes are checked. I run regular oil also not synethic. As Steveo says it is cheap insurance. I own it and pay for it so I do it my way.

My company runs synethic in their company trucks. Shop says they change oil at 10k on brand new ones, then every 60k after that. They also change all the filters then.

My company changes oil every 25k, plus every oil and fuel filter.

When I get the message from road service. Then I have 3000 miles to get it done.

We use synthetic oil and change it every fifty thousand miles.

I remember when I started out as a diesel tech in 1983, I was on top of the Cummins 400 big cam valve covers, pumping in 12 gallons of oil.

Then out of nowhere, in the corner of my eye, I see this BIG brown puddle of "brown stuff" creeping slowly out from under the truck.....OOOOPSIES ! I forgot to put the dang drain plug back in the pan DUHHHH......Was NOT fun mopping up nearly 12 gallons of new oil.......NEVER came out from under another truck, before putting the drain plug in ! hahaha
