CNG powered trucks again? Great until they break. Sounds good until the math is on paper and the cost of natural gas vs diesel for the output is figured. When this was tried many years ago, the natural gas ended up being twice the cost.
Let's All Go Green!!! Yawns....
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

Decent, simple article about why this idea is more lip service and emotion than anything
Waste Management tried out 12 trash trucks with Methanol engines in em as a test. Original Cummins engines were shelved to be reinstalled if they wished. Well, never being around methanol before, I was working on 1 and it was running. Well, a day or 2 later my body developed a full on rash, guessing from being around the exhaust.....Never went near that crap again. AND They had the place swap out back to the Cummins, they were built with....NH 855's (1989/90 because I got certified on them that year)
Pretty cutting edge...
Not really. Back when I started driving I pulled into a Pilot in Ohio towards the end of the day. It wasn't dark yet, but the shadows were getting long. All the free parking was taken, so I went in after fueling and tried to pay for one of the many empty paid spaces (this was before you just signed up with an app on your phone). The manager explained that the paid parking was FULL for the night, but she would be glad to show me where I could park my truck. Good deal!
She walked out to the parking lot with me and gestured towards the LPNG pumps. She said it would be o.k. if I parked in the entryway to the pumps. I didn't know better so I asked, "Won't that put me in the way if someone wants to fuel up there?" She told me not to worry about it - those pumps had only seen ONE customer in the last EIGHT years!

Pretty cutting edge for Werner drivers. Here is the link to the story. Apologies if this was already posted.
