Adventurous for sure, Dennis. Lol
One thing I found to be the most reliable is reading the shipper and consignee notes in my eld. They will tell you exactly where to turn when you arrive at their door.
As for the other issues such as exit numbers and businesses, I've seen that also.
Currently, I'm running the eld navigator, a second Garmin Diezl model GPS, and referencing my atlas while trip planning. More often than not, my GPS is doing the right thing but the eld is doing something else. Especially when I arrive at my destination.
Keep it on route out there!

Looks like you are off to a good start solo.
Our Omnitracs GPS navigator “Fem Bot” just doesn’t get it sometimes. Today I was directed to a fuel stop in Cedar City, UT at “J R’s Truck Stop”. No place by that name existed. It is now called “Rapid Robert’s”. JR must have retired and sold out.
Other places around the the country it gives directions using some local highway name, but no signs exist with that name.
Also have had incorrect Exit numbering reported where obviously an old Exit number system is still being used, but new numbers have been updated following highway construction improvements.
Just some examples for not blindly following a GPS Navigation system. The task of keeping those computer program algorithms updated with new real time information would be daunting.
The customer the freight is being delivered to. Also referred to as "the receiver". The shipper is the customer that is shipping the goods, the consignee is the customer receiving the goods.
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
