It isn't my personal belief. I worked in Public Health as an R.N. I gave 1000's of immunizations/vaccines to prevent all types of disease. Not once, did I give a munization to "reduce the severity of symptoms." Besides parroting the "News", what are your qualfications?

Don is correct that the immunizations are not given to reduce symptoms. They are given BEFORE symptoms happen and ideally to prevent symptoms from happening at all. That’s the theory at least. Weather it works is endlessly debated and I don’t have a valid opinion.

On the other hand, many in the medical community claim that if you are vaccinated and you still get Covid, your symptoms will be milder.

INDEED this thread derailed (or ventured, for a better word.) The purpose of the US/Canadian border protest IS and WAS to keep the FREEDOM (either for OR against!) vaccinations, in OUR hands...not the companies', the gov't's, the higher ups, the politicians.

Lewie's video (linked above) is a really good read. He's a heck of an asset to the OOIDA , that's for sure.

My late dad was a radiologist .. and I've never heard that phrase'ology either.

It seems very suspicious that the Canadian government has dug in their heels on this mandate issue. If someone has a strong opinion or conscientious objection against getting vaccinated, they shouldn’t be forced. There is too much that is unknown about these vaccines to say that everyone has to get vaccinated. It would be so easy for the government to drop the mandate, even if the rule was that if you are unvaccinated you have to mask up in certain situations. Most people could live with that rule.

This has been said on this forum before, but I believe there are huge money interests behind the nationwide mandate. Filthy rich people and companies are getting even richer because of the government policies not just in Canada but in the US and other countries also. These big money interests are able to influence politicians to do their bidding and it makes me mad to see it happen. Common sense, reasonableness and sanity are becoming extinct because money has taken over in this world.

CB radio that whole time over 25+ years was always loaded with 'trucker strike' talk. Started ignoring it after a while. Can't believe it's actually happened so many years later but in no way for reasons i'd ever have thought or imagined.Owner operators in really nice iron leading this movement,for obvious reasons.Not saying company drivers not on board but no one is going to hijack a company owned commercial big truck to do it.Lots of hype.The Ambassador Bridge issue.No body more elated to see that bridge shut down than people who live on Talbot Rd in Windsor,On leading up to that civil engineering blunder.Horrible location.'25% of all commerce'...Ya,Ya.Nearly half of Canada lives between Detroit and Montreal.That number being exploited for something it's really not. Gordie Howe Bridge supposed to be complete 2024.Blue Water Bridge built to relieve truck traffic off Ambassador in the first place,which it did.Blue Water doubled it's size with brand new span.Actually bigger than Ambassador.I-94 and I-69 join up with Kings Hwy 402,direct from get-on/get-off ramps.Much smarter.Ambassador Bridge owner/billionare from Detroit passed at 93 tears old.He was never big fan of new bridges.Lost revenue for he.Anyways,something got to be done.It's getting done.Gov folding like sheet,backtracking,damage control.resignations.Interesting and dangerous times.Commerce and shipping extremely important.They go hand in hand.Relationship between Canada and USA is unique in many ways to other neighbouring nations around world not to mention the tremendous tonnage of natural resources here.Lets face it.Its all about money.The land and its resourses are all that has ever been worth anything in the first place sinse we eaver startes recording time.The pressure on the powers that believe they rule over us all is revealing cracks in their foundation like never before.This is getting long.

So what do you guys think about the Canadian truckers and their fight for freedom?

If we do the same thing here, do you guys think you'll go? I realize company drivers can't take their trucks, but you can take your personal vehicle to Washington D.C. or to a protest in a nearby city.

Canadian By Laws Services tweeted that they will be confiscating pets of truckers arrested.... Not just the ones on the trucks... But from their homes!!!

Don appears to feel personally attacked for some reason. Like I've already said several times, believe what you want and do what you want. You have every right to do so. I'm gonna do what I feel is best for my kids. What's the point in getting angry? I'm not gonna change your mind and you're not changing mine. There's plenty of info available about all this stuff as you already know. No point in arguing my guy. Get the vaccine or don't, I really don't care man. But what you decide to do is none of my business and vice versa.
