So I slid on some ice in my apartment complex and hit a parked car. No police report or tickets. But insurance said they would report it to my MVR. Does anyone have knowledge in this situation? Will I need to report it to my current company and will it raise their insurance rates or anything else. It's a small company not like any of the mega carriers.

MVR:

Motor Vehicle Record

An MVR is a report of your driving history, as reported from your state Department of Motor Vehicles. Information on this report may include Drivers License information, point history, violations, convictions, and license status on your driving record.

Howdy!

Don't have anything 'similar' to relate .. but, in this age of interwebs and surveillance, I'd let your company know; just to be on the safe side.

Just my 2 cents, until the pros check in!

Best wishes; hope this doesn't hinder your career & profession; doubting it will.

It's an accident, of course you need to inform them. Most companies require you to let them know within 24 hours. Being that it's a collision your personal auto insurance and your carriers insurance will likely go up. What that means for you at that company we can't say. If that were your only "strike" in the last couple years at a large carrier you'd likely be safe and it wouldn't even be a question of losing your job. Small carriers run things completely different.

What's done is done. Inform your employer within 24 hours. They'll find it regardless and if you try to hide it it'll be far worse. If they decide to fire you for that and you've been an otherwise safe with a clean record youll have a new job by the end of the week. I wouldn't want to work for a carrier that may fire me for a single minor accident like you described.

You will be fine. Fess up about it, maybe answer a few questions and that will be that. Shouldn’t be a problem for you moving forward. I had a similar incident and all it amounted to was a blip on the radar screen

Can't control mother nature, sounds like your insurance company is a bunch of rats lol. It was on private property, hence no police report. I'd be honest about it too, just in case. But I'd think due to the circumstances of ice being the culprit unless you were acting a fool and were AT fault. It shouldn't matter a while lot to whom ever checks and finds it.....You'll find out soon enough, how much it actually matters to some. Good Luck ,all the best .

Tell your employer immediately. Most trucking companies will not fire you for that type of crash. However, they may ask you to take a drug test. Good luck!
