We'll since I still owe a family member $2300 bucks for CDL school it would be the height of ingratitude I my opinion to throw away 100 bucks for my own personal temporary comfort. So I'm at atlanta greyhound station again headed for Murray to begin p2. Surely EVERY single trip on a greyhound can't be terrible. Can it? I'll keep telling myself that anyway. Still haven't heard from my supposed co driver so I'm just gonna take the luck of the draw and rely upon my personality and social skills to help with any bad situations.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Hi Scott and fellow TT members,
It took me about an hour or so to read all the posts, but it was a good story, with alot of laughs, especially about the food and the greyhound adventures. I, like Joba, decided to book a flight for my orientation at Prime, Inc. to avoid the bus station drama...luckily they will reimburse me the cost of the bus ticket!!! I only pray to be able to avoid greyhound as I have for the last 20 years. I will be going from Class B to Class A and happy to have found a site with this kind of insight and resources.
I wish you continued success,

Have you people not heard of TRAINS ????? Or maybe they don't run on the right coast....Anyway...I used to like ridin' the long dog...but its gotten REALLY bad...and its worse, when you are a truck driver, and you SEE the dangerous mistakes the drivers make !!!Happened to me...I'll never ride one again....and I REALLY like the train.....
I've never had any problem with the drivers on greyhound . The buses breaking down, schedules getting borked and the customer service personnel in the terminals are what I hate.
I'm about 45 mins from my destination now and only gonna be 2 hours late. Low air pressure warning went off about 10 miles out from Monteagle TN. and it costs us some time waiting on a vendor to come change out compressor governor. Gave me some time to get some good food and some awesome conversation with a lovely young lady from Minneapolis MN.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

In word, YES! With the possible exception of:

. . . which is the only saving grace I can remember in all of the bus rides I ever took . . . there CAN be some really alluring passengers, if that's the sort of thing that floats your boat . . . a bit past my prime (no pun intended for us Prime bound students) in that department, but what does a person have if not his memories, eh?

It usually costs more to take a train than it does to fly.
Got a load out of Murray ky going to E. St. Louis. Delivered and getting unloaded now. Have preplan to pick up in St. Louis and relay a load back to Murray destined for Atlanta. Looks like I'm off of the "a-list" for loads I enjoyed with my trainer and on Unproven rookie trainee status. It is what it is I guess. I'll get the crumby loads picked up and delivered on time and safe and see if the mileage improves. Surely it will. 30,000 at 210 a day would take quite some time lol.

Here is the deal which I am sure you know. With a trainer you had someone to help with pretty much everything. Now is the time you have to start proving yourself. Sure you will get the shorter shuttle runs with a few good loads thrown in between. Once you can show that you can make it on time with the short runs and the better loads things will start to improve. We all had to go through this. It takes time.

Oh man....that's not good that he isn't returning calls or texts. Maybe he's at home and is trying to make a point of separating work from home time. That's an optimistic thought. But who knows?
As far as getting on the bus goes, I would pay $100 to stay off that thing anytime!
