Keep in mind some PC games allow use of a controller. i have an xbox elite 2 controller I use via Bluetooth on PC. Something to keep in mind as well.
Once I'm past the driving with a trainer I'll probably feel out if I have room/time for gaming. I don't think I'll have time with the goals I'll have for working out while driving as well.
I'll still probably carry my gaming laptop and the controller just in case I get some super crazy delay or stuck somewhere.
I don't drive yet, just so you know. Just arrived in town to start CDL school and finish mid June so mine is the opinion of someone not driving yet.
Hey I was just curious if any of you are gamers and if so what kind of set up do you play on in the truck. I grew up on Xbox but for the past few years I’ve played on a PC. But PC gaming feels like it would be too bulky to do in a truck comfortably, I may go back to my roots and get and Xbox to take with me.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
I use pda.net for my wifi. Works awesome, 7 bucks a year, utilizes your existing 4g phone data undetectable tethering.
Hp omen gaming laptop Ryzen 7, 16g ram, dedicated 1680 TI Nvidia. Our trucks have a 1800 watt inverter, laptop has to be ac powered for the dedicated GPU to work. MSI blade wireless mouse, use the laptop keyboard.
I use a laptop desk with built in cooling fan, sit in the bed with a sit up pillow.
Works awesome. Play Red Dead Redemption 2, ghost recon breakpoint, rainbow six extraction, you name it and run discord while streaming.
You can sync a ps4 controller to a pc

Davy, what carrier are you using for your phone. I used to use pdanet many years ago but then it no longer worked but I'd like to look into it again but I just read of some problems with someone using AT&T (I use Verizon). Also, is your phone unlocked or do you have a hotspot plan?

I have a small bed/couch desk that’s just large enough for my gaming laptop and mouse. Legs fold up so it’s easy to store.
I also have a Nintendo switch lite, can’t ask for a better system for on the road. Quick and easy to grab and mess around on while waiting on shippers etc.
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
I use Google Fi and get unlimited data after 6GB. It even works unlimited in Mexico and Canada. Coverage in super rural areas isn't s good as Verizon but along most interstates I've been on it's been fine

I bought an Oculus Quest 2 to start with. I figured since I will literally be living in a mobile pantry with a mattress, I guess it makes sense to bring VR into the mix. It is actually pretty killer. Plus there are workout apps so you can at least try to get some blood pumping.
That said, as soon as I get some extra scratch, I will be investing heavily into a good gaming laptop and internet dongle.
Keep your eye on the steam deck as well
