Hay, Travis! I'll post in the 'general' area, what I've learned from my Hubby, re: Howard! It's not much, but something.

Wow, MONDAY . . . rest up & be good to go, good sir! As much as you can, haha!

Which comes first, the B(aby) or the A ?!?!? Gawsh how exciting; Wishing you well on BOTH! Our son was born when Tom was 1 year in, driving for Transport America. They gave him ample (AWESOME) time off. They are now T'Force; wonder if you've looked into them, as well?

Excited for you !~ Say hi to the missus for me; and my email is in my profile if she ever needs to commensurate with a 'trucker's wife!' Congrats, you two!!!

LoL !! Comme ci, Comme sa .... Pas Mai .... yo comprende poquito espanol ~!! :) E'tu?

~ Anne ~

ps: I was born in NY and raised in FL. I learned some Italian (and French) in NY, and of course, Spanish/Spanglish, in Florida. I had to, delivering boat propellers, zincs, and underwater shafting, to Miami.

Un Mas' Cervesa, Por Favor! .. Donde es el' bano ?!??! rofl-3.gif

Well, my current license is NC so the address I'd be "hired from" is NC.

I live just across from Calexico CA in Mexicali. My preference would be a company that can put me home out west. Phoenix area, San Diego or LA area or even Yuma or Calexico but I'm not picky. I'm wanting to run long times out - 4-6+ weeks and then take a corresponding long time home.

At this point I may have to bite the bullet and just get hired in NC with a company that can give me the home time then fly myself out West and back. If I'm out 6 weeks at a time it won't be but about 3-4 cycles of that before my wife's visa is approved and we move to NC and I won't be split across the nation.

Congrats on both CDL and child. Godspeed. Keeps us posted on job search. Are you trying to get hired out of North Carolina?

A few companies come to mind, that would run either state:

  • Raider Express
  • Pride Transport
  • Witte Bros.
  • TFI (formerly CFI)
  • West Side Transport
  • H.O. Wolding
  • US Xpress

There are so many, but that's a few that I know of, that may hire you fresh, and then transfer you.

Best wishes; congrat the 'mama' from us!

Lots of the larger trucking companies have terminals within a 50 mile radius of Phoenix, same as most every other metropolitan area.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
