I live in NC. I have air brakes and combination skills just not semi trailer. I have CDL A. Im not currently employed cause of the reason for the SAP program.
I'm not sure they go that far south, but check into Dutch Maid Logistics; they train from the get go..here in Ohio. Appears you WILL have to start over. Did you look into Western Express? They MAY accept your CDL, as is; no guarantee. Just 2 thoughts.
Thanks for adding location, I sure don't have much for the PNW folks.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

I guess thats what that means. My license says no tractor trailers.
How long ago was your failed drug test and when did you complete your SAP program?

That's going to be a significant hindrance from what I have read about. The biggest thing (again not personal experience) is time between the issue and now. It's going to be a rough road for sure. Good luck.

And I have seen various people in the past post that different companies require a different amount of program. So if company A accepts 1 week. Company B may require 2 months.
Of course that may not be true. I would be interested in hearing of your journey and how it plays out

Any updates on the job search, Stephen?
We'd love to hear, and pay it forward with info!

With the new ELDT requirements it will more than likely make you go through another training program. I hope not but am afraid so
