I try to only do the 75/85/285/24 Atlanta area well after dark. Preferably from 2300-0500. Any time after that is what I've always referred to as, "Combat Driving".
It's not even the traffic that gets me! Mechanical issues, every time! The most recent big one was picking up a repowered load from the ATL drop yard. Pushed in the red valve, and bam. Airbag ruptured. Scared the poo outta me! That one took 8 hours to get fixed on site.
Airbag for the trailer?
Yeah, I suspect it was a small surface cut that happened to let go at the wrong right time. I don't really know how to describe it other than "boom" but it was def a "oh crap that's not good" sound.
I hate picking up "problem" trailers.
I would rather drive LA.
Hopefully it will improve for you soon, that gets to be very annoying.
Fort Wayne IN used to be like that for me, nothing but stupid mechanical problems.
Atlanta is straight up combat during the day. I always try for night time through there as well. Id rather drive Houston, Dallas and LA combined.

Worst 3: LA Houston Atlanta
Best 3: Telegraph, TX population 11 Gilbert, AR pop 28 Dorset, MN pop 24
If you ever get to drive down 377 towards Del Rio, TX, that route is very scenic. You pass thru Junction, Telegraph, Rocksprings, etc.

Every single load I have been on, that touches Atlanta, went through Atlanta, or was repowered FROM Atlanta has hosed me for a few hours. Yet I keep going back, hoping it will be better "this time!"
