Hello Everyone!

Just started as a solo driver with Western on Monday (Bloomington, CA), team loads since Thursday. I had teamed up with another driver (super cool) because I was recovering an available truck, so now he went his way and I’m bobtailing it at a truck stop.

Does anyone know if they have a dispatch team out of Nashville on the weekends? I know the DM’s only work Monday-Friday in Cali (I meant to ask the other day). I’ve been messaging on the tablet that I’m ready for a load, but haven’t gotten any type of response. They don’t have a Form Message for requesting loads.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Be safe out there!

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Yes they do, try calling the Nashville yard it should automatically connect you to weekend dispatch however the chances of you getting a load until Monday might be slim unless things changed since i drove for them they are a skeleton crew covering a lot of trucks and its rare to get pre planned over the weekend. A word of advice on Friday if you are close to delivering you're load shoot you're DM a friendly reminder to see if you can be pre planned for another load so you can be covered for the weekend and have to sit until monday. Best of luck

If you do FaceBook, go to their page, and in messenger, speak with Abbey. She WILL get you where you need to go, people or otherwise. (Tell her Anne from TT says hi, if you have a min, haha!)

Congratulations on your NEW VENTURE, for sure!dancing-dog.gif good-luck.gif dancing-dog.gif

Was hoping you'd do a diary, but all's good. Stay safe, stay focused. Old School got a GREAT start with Western. Look up some of his stuff, when you are bored on a 34, haha! I'm so excited & happy for you!

Best always,

Yeah had that issue driving for Legends, weekend or night dispatch was pretty much worthless lol. I'd get an Indian woman, explain what I needed, she'd pass me over to another woman from India, repeat my need/issue to no avail. Just get told someone, wouldn't bein til Monday. So, after that I got a hold of my DM , and have him line me up for return load to Cali. Worked out great, and kept me rolling pretty much, til my hometime in 3 weeks.....

Actually I really liked the company, and people, besides that initial*problem* lol Only way to keep getting 3200-3500 miles a week, I hate sitting idle on the road. They treated me great there, and if I wasn't planning to retire early, I'd drive for em until I was @ max retirement age....

Bonus's were great, and a surprise on first one, $1000 for 30 day seated bonus, + $500 on top of that for retention (part of the $10k signing bonus over 2 years) Last 1 right before my retiring, was another quarterly, $750 bonus, besides, 2, I'd got for fuel bonus's almost $400 extra (both).....Can't complain bout that (all were tax free), paid as reimbursements
