Just relaxing at home, this is the first time I have been home for a holiday since I got started in trucking. I usually celebrate them early, so it's not such a headache getting home on time. But this year, I decided to take the holidays off. :)

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

I'll be crawling into bed in the next hour or so. Waking up around midnight to run 2 stops in Davenport. I'll clock in at 1am for the roughly 320 miles. Shouldn't have a problem being back and clocked out by 830 to make it back home to pickup the family to do the parade at 10am. 10 miles north of us in Williams IA (I-35 EXIT 144 with the flying J) they've got a fun filled day set that will end with fireworks at 945pm.

Yesterday was my birthday... I worked with students so I am taking today and tomorrow off

At mall shopping with a friend now and going to BBQ with other prime drivers.

Happy belated, gal !!! Didn't see a B'day video on your channel; sorry I missed it!

BBQ and shopping sounds perfect, tho ~ Sending you a cake, to 'top it off!' Hahaha!!

Went down today to the Veterans Cemetary @ March Air Base in Riverside, to parents grave, since might be awhile to go again. My buddy and his wife go there on all the military holidays as well. They had me do the driving grrrrr not too much traffic, what there was, were flying past me doing the posted speed hahaha whatever dummies

Around home hear booms and bangs, fireworks here are illegal, with a $1,200 fine if caught. They got out all the message boards, to remind dummies. Worse is the friggin morons that shoot off their guns around here !! They forget, what goes up, must come down, and previous years in Calif. people have been killed, from falling bullets!! Have heard a few automatic gunfire bursts of 20-30 rounds, in maybe 30 seconds Jeeze wtf-2.gif

So am expecting a whole lot more noise on the actual holiday...

I'm parked for my 10 at the Newberry Springs rest area on I-40 near Barstow. Just a bit ago some asshat was lighting off fireworks. Monty is now hiding up in the bunk with me under my pillow. I can hear the dog in the truck next to me whining. Hope I can get some sleep....thunder boomers the last two nights caused me to not get much sleep and I have 430 miles to do tomorrow to get to the Port of Oakland by 1500.
