Very well said indeed Guy!

And congrats on things moving along for ya Jason with the schooling and pre-hire!

Pre-hire:

What Exactly Is A Pre-Hire Letter?

Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.

We have an excellent article that will help you Understand The Pre-Hire Process.

A Pre-Hire Letter Is Not A Guarantee Of Employment

The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.

During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.

Passed my final test, only missed 6 out of 100. I must admit, not as hard as I thought as far as the classroom portion goes, but if I had finished the high road, I would have known more but it worked out for me in the end. The air brakes portion wasnt hard, but theirs a lot of moving parts and knowing how to operate them is a must of course. Well, I finally got my driver abstract back from Hawaii so I just went and got my KY license, so I will be able to take my permit test on Tuesday. We start pre-trip and stuff on Monday, looking forward to finally getting out in the yard and getting that hands on trainingdancing-banana.gif ! This first week has been very enjoyable. Oh man, we did log book entries.today, and boy how we as car drivers don't appreciate those mile markers. It was a confusing day but I got it after we logged a simulated trip to Denver from Paducah and then to Indianapolis then dead head back to Paducah. Can't beat a atlas!! The log book is a doozie, but practice makes perfect. Any tips on logging lol. Well, time to enjoy the weekend. 8th row at the start/finish line in Martinsville on Sunday!!!!!smile.gif Go 88!!!!

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Yeah he works at hb fuller. He didn't have the seniority to get off. I'm just glad that we didn't buy tickets early. Oh well, instead of the 9 hour drive to Virginia I got to catch bass all day so its a win win.

Well....fishin' is a close 2nd in that race...I love to fish, but I catch and release almost all fresh water fish, including the sturgeon here. But if I can get out on the ocean, I keep and eat all I can... Early spring bass are good, and trout, if the water is still cold. Other than that, they get their 2nd chance at swimmin'....
