I came across this video on YouTube

https://youtu.be/5FofwioNJQk

He states that a former roadmasters student out of Bethlehem PA reached out to him to let him know that testers out of the school were busted prefilling out testing paperwork and those students have to be retested by a Penndot official.

These are screen grabs from the video

Roadmasters is another school I was looking at and in contact with that has been audited by Penndot and found to have fraudulently passed students. That makes 2 so far.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Wow, dang !!!!! What got you on that hunt anyway, Banks?

That's where Tom went to school... graduated in 2003, in Mt. Gilead Ohio, though.

We were JUST talking about this, dang. He's hunting for his certificate for one of the companies of interest. I've only got a digital copy.

What the heck, man. I'm glad I'm not 'young' in this day & age, sheesh!

Road Master always seemed to me to be the “Toad Master”, slippery, oily, shady AF. From the folks who work there to the whole set up, they were also 50 percent higher than my private school costs to the tune of about 4K more for essentially the same amount of instruction, and the recruiters were too hyperactive and pushy for my liking, like it was purely a numbers gig for them , not that any school isn’t about numbers but TM (toad master) more so.

Glad I dodged the bullet

Yeah, no doubt.

In '03, they weren't 'that' bad ~ the WIOA grant paid for Tom's. Honestly, it was a HUGE help, getting RIF'd from a $70K job; which was a lot (more) back then.

It was that, or nursing. He got his STNA, actually..... but couldn't move forward; wasn't in his hemispheric brain composition. I'll leave it at that, LoL.

I'm following, though!

ps: I sure remember reading something on CDLlife .. awhile back.

pps: Still reminds me of LOBOS ~ ! (Augh!)

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

WIOA:

WIOA - Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (aka WIA)

Formerly known as the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the WIOA was established in 1998 to prepare youth, adults and dislocated workers for entry and reentry into the workforce. WIOA training funds are designed to serve laid-off individuals, older youth and adults who are in need of training to enter or reenter the labor market. A lot of truck drivers get funding for their CDL training through WIOA.

Trucking School Closure : Students left Untrained . . .

Another reason to either go YOUR route, and/or the Company Paid way.... one in the same, actually!
