I assume it's to cut down on people trying to trick the tests. Either a bag of pee or the super hardcore catheter and shoot clean pee in your bladder

double-quotes-start.png

I never understood the reasoning behind not telling a driver they are having a random drug test done when they return to a terminal. If a driver has used illegal substances, it isn't possible to hide it. Our company always called us to tell us "you have to go get a random drug screen done when you get back." "Okay, will do." Then we go get it done.

With advance notice, the person who is dirty will resort to a whole host of methods to try to beat it.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I have heard about these methods, but frankly, can't see any scenario how any could possibly be effective in today's methods of collection. .

I guess if you actually pushed someone else's clean urine into your bladder it might push the metabolites down below whatever the cutoff levels are for a positive.

Would probably depend how dirty you were and how much of your own urine you produced between getting it in there and giving the sample.

Aside from using really old urine, if it was fresh from clean guy to you I didn't know how they'd detect that. It'd be at the right temp and whatnot 🤮

I have heard about these methods, but frankly, can't see any scenario how any could possibly be effective in today's methods of collection. .

I don't know of any testing sites that allow you to bring in a urine sample. You produce a specimen there, and you don't leave until you do.; else, it 's considered a failed test

What Travis was referring to is a common practice in sports to get urine from somebody who is 100% clean and then put a catheter up the “drain vein” and inject the clean urine into the bladder. Then the bogus urine is peed into the test container at the time of the monitored urine test.

I know, really gross. But it is mind boggling how far some people will go to cheat, not just with urine tests, but in life in general. Sad.

I don't know if athletes doing that is "common", but in regards to driving/drivers, that is extremely unlikely due to isolation and availability of others urine and the medical equipment to even attempt such nonsense.

Don;

Here's one of their trucks; Wooster ones are smaller hauls, though:
