The companies will constantly try to convince you to lease, here is something you should expect. Pretty convincing, don't fall it everyone!

Hi Daniel,

The pay for O/O is $1.065 PM. And the fuel sur charge is paid on all miles. You ran 10,648 in your last 30 days. Had you been an owner operator you would have made around $4317. That is after all your expenses except taxes. Do you want to make more money? Give me a call so we can answer any questions you have.

Owner Operator:

An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

$1.065 PM + FSC aint bad, depending what the actual contract looks like. But leasing and owning isn't for everyone.

Ahhh Brett....is this another scoundrel ??? The deal sounds alot like the last one... Listen buddy.....the dumbest thing a rookie can do is go for the lease to own/ owner operator bull roar. For those of us that ARE Owner Operators, and have been for decades, we know that if theres any money out there to be made, it won't be made by a rookie, leasing a truck from a company that makes its money from leasing them to rookies......Do ya see the circle in this ????

I'm in the middle of doing "Suzy Homemaker" crap....I always knew there was a reason I liked driving truck....the sleeper is easy to clean.....And someone tell me again why I wanted a house with so many rooms...... I am going to plead mental incapacity due to extreme mental pain brought on by dusting, vacuuming, and mopping floors. My hands are even getting prunie !!!!!!

Hehe no problem Starcar, I'd have the same reaction.

It's sad because these tactics actually work. I know so many rookies like me who leased because "it pays more". I don't know enough about the industry to o/o like you do, nor do the other rookies. I had a friend in school who thought exactly the same about leasing as I do and Central is definitely getting to him. He gets low miles so he's frustrated and looking for a way to make more without realizing that his 1100 miles a week won't even grant him a paycheck.

The miles are extremely too inconsistent here at Central to be making any payments. If I leased I would make even less. I mean, I had one load last week that was 910 miles and that's it!

I recall asking you about Central a while ago. So you would know! Lol!

I hope so. Last week the winter storm kicked my ass as well as repairs. I'm staying on loads but delivering at 0800 3/28 and picking up 60 miles away at 1100 3/29 is annoying haha. So much time between loads it's killing my miles per week.

Yeah that waiting between loads is always a major frustration in the reefer business - waiting for 5 or 6 hours to get loaded just burns up your legal driving hours. Good time management is a truckers best friend, but those shippers and receivers can sure mess up a good thing if they have a half a chance.
