I have a similar problem. For the last 13 years or so I have been the 24/7 care-giver for my father. Therefore I have no employment history, and even worse is the fact that I have no IRS records, either. I can get letters from my brothers and my father's physician for some documentation on the issue, but will it be enough? Any suggestions?
Ask the recruiters what they will accept. As long as the company is satisfied with your explanation of what you've been doing for the past x number of years, that's all you need.
Mine is very simalur to yours. I have been a stay at home mom/wife and caregiver to my disabled daughter for the past several years so therefore no tax records to prove that. I had 3 of the best contacts I could find write letters stating what I had been doing , the reasons, and the outcome and if they would hire me themselves and had those notarized. The companies I have talked with thus far are ok with them and most of them understand.
