That sounds really good. I can only think of 3 reasons why it would be hard to hire applicants. Steep experience requirements. You all are based somewhere that nobody wants to live. Or lastly you guys haul nuclear waste that drivers get routinely exposed to. Oh 1 more. There is some hardcore manual labor involved.
Sounds like you’re looking for experienced drivers. Which means you’ve got to lure them away from their current company.
Respectfully, your “excellent package” doesn’t look anymore attractive than any other tanker/hazmat position. However, the “meals paid for on the road” makes me wonder if this is primarily a local gig, which could make the position much more attractive, for that pay.
Experienced drivers (usually) already have paid vacation and 401(k). What sets you apart? Now, if you’re offering 3 weeks paid vacation for experienced new hires, immediate 401(k) match (dollar for dollar and none of this $.50 up to 5-6% stuff), company paid (100%) health & disability insurance well, then you might have something people are interested in. You might wanna offer a performance bonus that allows drivers to (realistically, not pie-in-the-sky) earn an extra $600/quarter.
If your business is successful, you probably know better than me. I just know that, for me to leave where I am (8 years and excellent safety record), there’s gotta be a big upside and almost no downside.
I hope this helps.

Good afternoon all, In my mind our company has an excellent package for drivers (highlights below), but we struggle to get drivers to come work for us. I'm curious what you all think of our package and what you are looking for in a company. For reference we ship hazmat and drivers need their tank endorsement as well.
- home weekends (pending equipment issues or weather) we schedule M-F - hourly pay and overtime, generally equates to 85-95k a year - benefits package, health insurance, life insurance, etc - paid vacations and holidays - uniforms - 401(k) with company match - meals paid for on the road - $2500 sign on bonus - generally newer equipment (primarily 2020+ Cascadias) - assigned trucks, no slip seating
