There is the Diversity Visa 2016 program. I'm from New Zealand, and applied through the DV2015 program and find the draw results in a months time.

South America has another visa program of it's own as the US's close neighbours, but I don't know much about it.

You will need either a Work Visa, Residence Visa or Special Circumstances (Seasonal Work) Visa. You would find the best information on the US Immigration department website.

It is difficult to get a work visa for a truck driving job in the U.S.A., because the labor department has truck driving listed as "unskilled labor". There is some politics involved in this, but that's the way it is done. It is much easier to get a work visa for "skilled labor" jobs. Another barrier is that you must hold a U.S. drivers license for one year before you can apply for a commercial drivers license. They do not allow you to operate a commercial vehicle in the states with a foreign drivers license, even if it is equivalent to our commercial license.

The best way to do this is to come here with the intention of becoming a citizen, and finding some other form of work you can support yourself with while you are getting a state driving license for a regular vehicle. Once you have held that license for a year you can then apply to a driving school for training, and then obtain your Commercial Driving License. You will be required to go through professional training before you will be able to get a driving job, as they will not consider your overseas experience, and you will have been out of a truck for too lengthy of a time period due to their regulation of needing to hold that regular license for one year.

I don't want to throw water on your fire, but it is a daunting challenge to do this. We have a member on here who came from England and did get his commercial license, maybe he will see this and respond with some more clarity if I haven't gotten all the facts straight.
