Can't ya do reading and research when your at home and not at work?

I'm not sure why this topic has turned to me having to validate that I don't have a lot of free time. But yes when I am home i try to do a bit of research, but the times that I am home and not too exhausted to actually retain what I am researching are few and far between.

I am trying to take my time and learn as much as possible. So as not to rush into anything. That is why i am at this site.

Not questioning or asking you to validate your free time. Was just curious is all. I guess I am just used to dealing with or talking to people that are not in trucking that have at least 1 to 2 days off each week that could use that time to study. I guess I need to get use to the idea that some people actually work 7 days a week and have no days off that are at home with normal jobs.

James H, I might have taken what you said wrong...and for that, I truly apologize....Sometimes we get folks on here who think that getting into trucking is like going to work for Mc Donalds. When in all truth, getting into trucking is a life changing experience, your life, and the lives of everyone who loves you. So you taking the time to really know what trucking is all about before you truly take the step thru the door is a wise and admirable thing to do. And I have to agree with you, when you get off work, and your brain dead, trying to learn and hang onto any portion of it is nearly impossible. So work at it as you can, and ask all you need to. We are here to help. And....I forgot to say GLAD TO HAVE YA HERE !!!!

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
