Thanks again for all of the great information everyone. The point you brought up about the port itself being a clusterf--- is the only thing that really worries me. I've heard the one at Long Beach is notoriously busy and chaotic, with some trucks stuck there waiting for hours on end. I don't know how much time there would be for extracurricular activities, but my favorite baseball team's stadium is located just 25 miles from the port. Just gotta find somewhere to stash the truck.

On all chassis the front 2 are pins that slide into and back out of a hole and have to be zip tied so they don't inadvertently slide out while going down the road. The two knobs in the back turn sideways and also are to be zip tied....which are then cut before crossing the check-in pedestal where the unloading assignment is given.
