For overcast and most medium to high sunny days, I have multiple pairs of foster Grant light yellow tint blades found at most wally worlds, bout 12.99 each. Polarized and no, ansi rated, cheap but are hard to scratch. If regular shades make shadows too deep, these are great because they cut enough light to be effective but still let you see dark areas well.
For bright days on snow and reflective surfaces I wear ray ban bolloramas. I also have a set of Oakley gas cans.
Most of my time if I'm not wearing my co tacts. I have prescription Oakley red tint as I'm colorblind and they help me see dark cars better. Also Oakley prescription glasses with anti glare film. I only drive with those after dark. The anti glare is awesome.
The colorblind issue makes most smoke and green tinted lenses too dark for me
For anyone who wears glasses (not contacts), is it better to get transition lenses, Rx sunglasses, or over Rx sunglasses (that cover your regular glasses? Thanks in advance!
Okay Bruce..here is your chance for redemption...
I see you are from Madison. I too am a Wisco native. There is a town in Walworth County less than an hour from Madison that is the title of yet another ZZ top song. Can you name it?
Zen, what is there about ZZ Top and sunglasses? You gotta let me in on the joke.
Good grief man!
ZZ Top song "Cheap Sunglasses"
There is no way I could have known that. My new sunglasses were not cheap.

Thank you for all the replies. I will order a pair of the 3m safety glasses and try them. if that don't work, I will keep trying others that you people suggested.

I have bought them at both Lowe's and Home Depot. Sometimes 3M, sometimes Dewalt, depending on what's in stock.

3M Performance Eyewear Plastic Safety Glasses
Why pay top dollar for something that's going to get lost or broken inside of a year anyway?
I like these because they're cheap, durable and SAFETY GLASSES (some sites require safety glasses). Meets the requirements of ANSI Z87.1, CSA Z94.3 and AS/NZS 1337 .
< $40
Polarized
Light weight
Impact-resistant lenses block 99.9% of UV rays
The frame feels like hard rubber. They bend before they will break. Survives where hard plastic frames wouldn't and they fit my huge head.
Scratch resistant
