You got it! Tomorrow we'll have a popcorn emoji!
I always thought we should have the type of trucking we do under our user names, maybe under where it says driver type.
Like: BobcatBob Experienced driver Linehaul
XYZ Rookie driver Regional flatbed
Or something along those lines.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.
LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.

That sounds pretty cool, and it's simple to implement. I don't see why not!
Should we show that right in the forum with the rest of our personal information, or should it just be in our bio on our profile page?

Two problems with that:
1) People won't even fill out their city and state now. Adding one more field for them to ignore probably won't do much good.
2) Trucking is a, "big tent" - there's A LOT of different subdivisions and they don't always fit neatly into one box. I drive, "Dedicated" - but that's through 6 states to the DC in Dubuque. There are, "Dedicated" drivers at my DC who just drive down the road to the stores in Portland or Seattle and go home every night.
Just looking through the help wanted ads in my area there are tankers who refill gas stations, tankers who haul milk from dairy farms, tankers who drive Class 7 trucks (2,000 gallons or less) to either rescue stranded motorists or drive to other companies and refill their trucks while they're parked in their yards. How many fields are you going to need to give a clear picture of what all these drivers do? Tanker, Class 7, Haz-mat, B2B? Dedicated, Class 8, Retail, Multi-state?
Here’s something I was thinking about. I was reading through a post the other day which was about 8 pages deep. A member quoted a line from a comment and responded to it. I tried to go back to see where that particular quote came from but just couldn’t find it. It was one sentence from a lengthy comment. Is it possible to have like a find on page feature or find in the post feature? Assuming what I’m saying is even making sense.
Should we show that right in the forum with the rest of our personal information, or should it just be in our bio on our profile page?
I'd say right up front.

I was thinking more about a general sense, but sure if you wanted to break it down to that level it would require a fair amount. Most people here are from the major categories so a few options would cover all most everyone. Or leave a space to type whatever subcategory you want.

I like that idea too!

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
New! Check out our help videos for a better understanding of our forum features
Hey folks,
I've got a biggie here!
We have been implementing a new design across the website. Most of it is complete. This forum is one of the last remaining sections, and now it's complete. So tomorrow you will find a slightly different-looking forum, but not too different....except for one thing....
Dark Mode!
That's right. We've created a dark mode across the entire website with black backgrounds and white text. Anyone who is logged in will get to choose the light or dark version and switch between them anytime. The option will be in the main menu.
I have to say, the dark version is rather intense! I'm diggin' it. I've been using it for the past few days, and it's pretty cool.
I'll make the change early tomorrow morning.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys think of it!
While we're on this subject, give me any feedback you have about this website. What can we do better? What features or information would you like to see? Lay it on me!
Thanks!
