Here is a quick update. I have been looking recently for a few days of weekly driving, and tried to get a mail hauling job with 10Roads. This company posts a lot of ads on craigslist, but, unfortunately, my available days don't fit well into their schedule. So I applied to a couple other local carriers, and was lucky to be hired by NFI, a contractor for Budweiser in Merrimack, NH. It is hard to find a better job for someone who likes both trucks and beer :-) Also, it is 100% no touch freight!

Hello Andrey, glad to hear from you again! Sounds like a good gig for you. I hope we hear from you on a regular basis now. (Although PackRat is not going to be happy about that daycab). Lol

Yes, I know, it is a Freightliner, no Volvo for me this time :-( But at least it is new...

10 roads pays kinda shady anyways. Atleast up here in Alaska their drivers are always in a rush.

That's pretty cool. I'm not much of a drinker but think it would be cool to haul alcohol. Duie Pyle in my area just started hauling beer as well. I'm not sure how that works. I was told that once it reaches the local DC they can't haul across state lines. I'm guessing companies like D Pyle pick it up from the brewer and take it to the local DC's.

Yes, I heard that its complicated, and every state is somehow different. I can only sat that NFI hauls beer (bottles, cans and kegs) from Budweiser plant in Merrimack, NH to DCs in several neighboring states: NH, MA, ME, CT, NY, NJ, RI and VT. No retail stores, just warehouses. Shipments come with regular BOLs, and I don't think there are any special alcohol permits in our trucks. However, I never searched, maybe they are hidden somewhere :-)

Congratulations on the gig Andrey. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I don't know the ins and outs of hauling alcohol, but our trucks have alcohol permits in it them for states that my building touches.

We carry permits in our truck document binder as well. We move liquor pretty often to a distribution center in Delaware and pick up from local craft breweries all the time. Mostly Victory and Dogfish Head, some other smaller ones too

That is a nice looking day cab you have there! Welcome to the Dark Side!

We have them as well.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
