I wonder if they have tested it against deer or moose?

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Personally I prefer the looks of the Scania R series, the KW K108e or the new Volvo FH series... that cross between a dolphins beak and a plastic tonka toy just doesn't do it for me.

The old trucks the 379 pete. Kw 900 and Freightliner Classic used to rules the roost until fuel shot up to current day prices now those that own them can't give them a way.

Also the road noise in those classic trucks is so loud you can not talk to your Co driver in the sit nest to you. You had to yell to be heard. Most reading this will never drive one of those old classic trucks.

Oh BTW someone mentioned a while back that they could not wait to start with TMC cause they could not wait to drive the old class 379 pete......not going to happen. TMC is getting rid of the long nose Petes in favor of the newer more fuel efficient petes...the 579 I believe.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

I've gotta say....I think that truck is awesome!!!! From a driver's standpoint the visibility is incredible and the truck looks like a rocket ship!

I mean, don't get me wrong....I love old-school stuff. I drive a '77 Chevy 4x4, heat my house with wood (switching to coal next year), and I raise animals and grow a huge garden, 95% of which I do by hand. But I also love science and technology. So I really dig this truck. The engineering is really cool.

I saw it at the truck show. It is a one-seater, with a sleeper. The trailer has a rounded nose for additional freight.

With the wedge on the nose, it should be easy to get through stalled traffic.

Think rock - Now think windshield - Now think parked until it gets replaced.

If it sounds like a jet turbine that might be cool.

If it sounds like a chainsaw, sorry Honda Civic, that would not be so cool.

No carpet allowed inside as the static electricity shuts the truck off.

They do not actually save 4000 lbs on the trailer, it just allows them to ship more. Oh and how will that trailer hold up to a forklift?

Cool idea but they need to drive it loaded to the max in the snow first.

rofl-3.gif I like that....pretty funny!

I think you're way underestimating the engineering in this thing though. I'm pretty sure they've thought about rocks hitting the windshield and loading it with a forklift. I mean, nobody has less faith in our education system of today than I do, but I'm pretty sure engineers know that rocks hit windshields and forklifts load trucks.

That is just the thing Brett. It will be to expensive for most people to afford and since most companies trade out there trucks every 300k to 400k miles or maybe 500k on the outside it would not financially feasible. Why spend $250k on a truck when they can spend alot less and have a truck that does the same thing. Like many concepts this will not make it off the production floor.
