Last week in Texas I saw diesel at $2.99 per gallon at one truck stop.

I assume that the price is going down due to the decreased demand which is due to the transportation downturn. Any comments?

Also, have any of you used RainX on your windshields? Does it help and is it worth using?

I've used it on my car and found it to be not worth the hassle. I'd imagine it's a lot more difficult on a truck. It's like a wax that you have to rub thoroughly to avoid spotting and the spots make driving in the sun annoying.

It also expires and the expiration date isn't as far out as you'd expect it to be for something you don't use often.

I'm kind of curious about these

But holding off until I do more research.

I use the Rain-X brand washer fluid in my personal vehicles and like the no-hassle results. I recently went through my first truck wash using a coupon for free Rain-X treatment and only saw a slight difference for a couple days maybe.

I use the RainX washer fluid, because that's what I have always used. The actual glass treatment was amazing 20 years ago, and I treated all the cars/pickups I have owned. About 5 years ago, the formula changed, and it's been 💩 ever since. With as much effort as it takes to get it on correctly, I would fall off my truck and my arms would be numb well before I even got the first side of the windshield done.

I'm cruising eastern states right now and its around $3.90-$4.19 from what I've been seeing.

It's always cheaper in the south central states.

I tried using it when I drove a cab, never lasted more than a few days. I don't think it is worth the hassle, especially applying to a truck.

I guess i’ve been lucky. I usually get my truck washed at Blue Beacon. I always get the rainx and it lasts pretty well between washing. I do get it washed at least every 2 weeks.

I run mostly across the south. It’s a toss up who has the cheapest fuel but always comes down between MS and LA. With my fuel duscount I have been getting it around 2.90 for a month or so. The further north or west you go the higher the price.

I started getting the rainx treatment at Blue Beacon also and I like it. Doesn’t last super long but keeps the truck shiny for longer

I may be against the grain here, but generally rain x for me turns into a smeared oily mess after bugs. It's nearly impossible to get off your windshield. I avoid it.

I do use their removal cleaner though as it removes oil and road film. Our company provides us with wipers thst are phenomenally horrible and leave microbes that equate to a smear.

I purchase my own heavy duty blades, usually Bosch and get reimbursed. Once a week I clean the blades themselves and use a rough Terry cloth towel to smooth the rubber blades out. I've found that to be the singular most effective thing for clarity. Cost effective too.
