After training if you don't pass the driving test do you have to pay the company back?

I believe that this would be a matter of the contract signed. The real question might be how much would need to be paid.

I don't know who you're training with Tammy, but with CRST, my 1st co-driver/classmate, took 4 times to finally pass !! And he was behind 3 extra weeks, doing so. Then we finally got together to team (was a nightmare with him) hahaha After a month, I dumped him, and found another co.

Try asking someone where you are at, they are better to answer your question, I'd think. "Straight from the horses mouth" thing

Even asking "someone" at a company wont help. Contracts change all the time. Ask the recruiter or ttauning department.

At Prime, you only can walk away at 7 days from the statt of orienrartion. So you won't even be near the exam date yet. State law may differ but in MO u get 3 drive tests before getting sent home.

Why are you focused on the negative?

I left Roehl gycdl program after 2 weeks. They agreed to charge me nothing and pay me minimum wage for my 2 weeks. My classmate failed part 2 out with trainer and they didn't charge him. However not sure if they made him downgrade his license, he drives a school bus.

I would imagine if you got your cdl through the company but failed out with trainer they'd want to be paid or at least prevent you from driving for another company for a year or paid back before they would release you.

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Well I'm just thinking. If I go through the school and go to the federal or whatever it's called, driving test, if I don't pass that what happens. Can I take that driving test as much as I need to pass?

Tammy, relax a little and just get focused to make this transition in your life. You can do this!

They are going to train you specifically to pass that driving test. They are going to work with you and will recognize the areas you need to improve. They will get you prepared.

Remember the whole reason they are giving you this shot is because they want you to be one of their drivers. They are not interested in having you pay them a debt. It's a small percentage of people who fail the driving test. A much larger percentage quit before the test or during their time with a trainer. Getting your CDL is not nearly as hard as you are imagining it.

Get off the starting line and run girl. good-luck.gif
