Do I need a dot physical to receive my cdl permit? Gotta get studying! !!!!
Hey Carl, I'm headed Prime's way when my arm heals . . . in Nevada, where I got my CDL-A Permit, they require the DOT physical card before they give the actual permit paperwork . . . Delaware might be the same, you'll have to check with your DMV to find out . . .

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
The physical is a federal requirement. Make sure whoever does it is approved and on the registry of approved examiners. I got mine done at an urgent care center.
And you should be taking our High Road Training Program to prepare for the CDL permit and all of the endorsements. It's an awesome program that contains the entire CDL manual built right in, a scoring system, a review system, and a whole bunch of features that make it highly effective training program. And it's free!
Go get em!

I'm heading to the NC DMV to take my Permit Tests and they said I didn't have to have a DOT Physical or a card until I come back to take the actual road tests hope that's the case when I get there cause I'm ready to pass this and pack my bags for next weeks trip to PRIME INC..

Ken, call your recruiter to make sure but I think they have you go through a DOT physical even if you already have a card (as I do) so it may be a mute point. I took mine because my DMV (Nevada) would only give me the actual permit after I passed and got the card. I also didn't want any surprises at the orientation. Since I ended up failing the vision test and buying glasses to pass, I was glad I did so . . . again, no surprises . . .
